A spokeswoman for Secretary of State John Kerry reversed herself on Friday, now saying that Kerry was — indeed — sailing in Massachusetts as Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi was ousted in a military coup.

He wasn’t sailing! He was floating ideas on what to do about Egypt.
I am reminded of those famouse words of another SoS and now the new Moto for the agency:
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

If he had adequate warning that the Egyptian government was in grave danger and then he went windsailing he was irresponsible. Everybody else seemed to feel the then current Egyptian government was in trouble.
I’m glad he was sailing. It is clear that Obama was going to support Morisi which was the wrong call.
I wish the entire Obama adminstration would go sailing for a couple of years.
I also am beginning to think the Egyptian army timed the take over for when Obama was out of town and distracted so that he could not intervene on behalf of Morisi.

We had Frequent Flyer Panetta as Secretary of Defense refusing to move his family to Washington and then flying home every weekend while we are at war. Now, we have Serial Sailor Kerry going for jaunts when serving as Secretary of State while the Middle East explodes. Why, it’s almost like he’s getting paid by someone other than the American taxpayers.
