Bingo!

You may be a bit of a loner, but if so, it’s totally by choice. You like to fly solo.
You are very self-reliant and even a bit self-absorbed. You’re very in to doing your own thing.

You tend to be a bit reserved. People find you hard to get to know, and you purposely don’t open yourself up to just anyone.
You feel a bit disconnected from the world. You are definitely on your own wavelength, and you enjoy being there.

Her Worst Day Ever

June 26, 2013

In May 2011, a young woman took cover in a bathtub during a tornado that devastated her city of Joplin, Missouri. Her husband covered her body with his and took the blows from flying debris. He died, and she survived because of his heroism. She naturally wrestles with the question, “Why?” But a year after the tornado, she said that she finds comfort because even on her worst day ever, she was loved.

When I think about “worst days ever,” I think of Job right away. A man who loved God, he lost his animals, his servants, and his 10 children in one day! (Job 1:13-19). Job mourned deeply, and he also asked the “Why?” questions. He cried out, “Have I sinned? What have I done to You . . . ? Why have You set me as Your target?” (7:20). Job’s friends accused him of sinning and thought he deserved his difficulties, but God said of his friends: “You have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has” (42:7). God did not give him the reasons for his suffering, but He listened to Job and did not fault him for his questions. God assured him of His control over everything, and Job trusted Him (42:1-6).

The Lord may not give us the reasons for our trials. But, thankfully, even on our worst day ever, we can know for sure we are loved by Him (Rom. 8:35-39).

We’re grateful, Father, that You know our hearts
with our pain and joy. Thank You that You never
leave us nor forsake us, as Your Word tells us.
Please hold us close during our trials.
God’s love does not keep us from trials, but sees us through them.

Read: Job 7:11-21

I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. —Job 7:11
Bible in a Year:
Job 5-7; Acts 8:1-25

December Says That You Are Perceptive
You're the type of person who was practically born wise. You see things that others can't see.
You are good at getting down to essentials and figuring out what really matters.

You also have a gift for reading people. You consider yourself a "Human Lie Detector" of sorts.
You are always aware and processing information. It's hard for your mind to take a rest.

April Says That You're Responsible
You are a very detail oriented, together person. You're the type who is "always on." You take almost everything seriously, and it's hard for you to let little things slide. You hate feeling overwhelmed. You are extremely honest and sincere. You don't sugar coat anything, and you have strong opinions. Everyone who knows you knows your likes and dislikes. If you criticize something or someone, it's not personal. It's just you being you. Wow -- this really does "fit" me!

October Says That You Are Reflective
You are a very pensive person. You spend a lot of time thinking, and a lot less time acting.
Some may consider you slow, but they never see how fast the thoughts inside your head are going.

You are neither an optimist nor a pessimist. You are the biggest realist in the world.
You are able to see all sides to an issue or a person. You don't believe in black or white... it's not that simple.

Served in Alaska on the DEW line in Galena and Campion when it was still a Territory and the “Cold War” was on and my CIC was an honorable man with the name of “Ike”.

Musquitoes still swarming in summer time? Fish still plentiful in the Yukon? First snowflakes still appear in late August or early September? Temperatures still dip below -50F in January? Russians still sending their jets screaming at sea level temporarily penetrating our radar just to piss off us?

Ah, America how I miss you.

Oh yeah, I can be pensive.
Put me on a nice, warm beach somewhere
and I can be very pensive. LOL
And do a LOT of thinking.
Hard to get the brain to shut up sometimes. LOL

Although, one piece is not so true...
on some issues I DO see it as black or white!

Another hot day, so I need to get out early for my walk.

Don't go anywhere.
Please stay.
Keep the troops and their families entertained.

The Canteen is

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS
