Do the words "double jeopardy" ring a bell, Joe? In 2012, shortly after Trayvon Martin was killed, and when few facts were available, Joe Scarborough didn't hesitate to brand George Zimmerman a "murderer."
Scarborough's pro-prosecution bias was on display again on Morning Joe today, when he declared that the absence of African-Americans on the George Zimmerman jury would "immediately" make a verdict subject to appeal. Really? So if this jury were to acquit Zimmerman, the prosecution would have a valid basis to overturn the verdict on appeal? Sure sounds like double jeopardybut Scarborough never raised that concern.

Has Florida lawyer Joe Scarborough ever heard of double jeopardy? Ping to Today show list.
People are still innocent until proven guilty in this country aren’t they?
Appeal by whom? It is my understanding a jury consists of persons approved by both the defense and prosecution attorneys.
Subject to appeal, eh?
So... the prosecution fails to get a conviction and appeals?
Is this how it works, dummass?
Weren’t the Rodney King cops sent to trial a second time after Clinton didnt like the outcome?
“Is this how it works, dummass?”
It is if you are a liberal
What a moron.
Scarborough needs to put a sock in it.
If we get an appeal due to the “race” of the jury, since only blacks can be jurors apparently, shouldn’t Zimmerman be acquitted based on the fact that the president (God I still hate referring to this ass-hat as president) , came out and basically prejudiced the whole country by saying Travon was his virtual son?
Yeah, they’re pretty much opposed to, ignorant of, or simply assume that the rules shouldn’t apply to them and their agenda.
Of course, “double jeopardy” applies when they are defending a true deviant and threat to society,
but not someone whose actions threatens their agenda.
Indeed, such appeals are usually brought by a convicted defendant, so the entire premise is based on the similarity in race (or rather, the lack thereof) between the jurors and the *defendant* The "victim" isn't part of the picture.
Joe has rocks in his head.
If the “correct” verdict is not returned, Orlando will burn. Probably Miami and Tampa, too.
If the innocent guy is found innocent, there will be appeals and the ‘justice’ dept will ‘find’ another charge to lay on him and prosecute him again.
baloney....in fact illegal to seat one deliberately. and only 6 jurors.
“Obama - “came out and basically prejudiced the whole country by saying Travon was his virtual son?”
The media with their use of child photos of Martin, and Obama’s statements had Zimmerman convicted and guilty before the trial.
I don’t recall the right to a trial by your alleged victim’s peers.
This is a hoot. Joe is a fool.
There is authority for appeals when the accused is Black and the prosecution systematically excludes Blacks from serving on jury through peremptory challenges.
However, the right to a jury of peers is held by the accused, not the so-called victim, or his family, or his greedy lawyers.
Man.
He be GUILTY.
As in : guiltyguiltyguiltyguiltygilteeeeeee!
Keep tryin’ him over and over again—untill ya get the right verdict!!
Thasss how it’s done!
