Seventeen years after the Paris-bound TWA Flight 800 blew up off the coast of Long Island, producers Tom Stalcup and Kristina Borjesson have released a new documentary simply titled TWA Flight 800 that has the very real potential to re-open the investigation into the planes destruction.
Kudos, in particular, to Stalcup. A Ph.D. physicist by background, he has dedicated the last 16 years of his life to exposing what is arguably the most flagrant government cover-up in American peacetime history.
Borjesson has likewise been involved from the beginning. As a producer at CBS in 1996 when TWA 800 was destroyed, she sacrificed her future at CBS to get at the truth. Together, they have produced a documentary that is compelling, convincing and, finally, deeply moving.

The producers made two strategic moves to force the media to look seriously at their conclusions. One was to rely heavily on the testimony of a half-dozen highly credible whistleblowers from within the investigation.
The second was to avoid politics. When James Sanders and I produced the video documentary Silenced on this subject 12 years ago and the book First Strike two years after that, we made the marketing mistake of identifying the logic of the cover-up.

The presence of rocket fuel residue in the carpets of the forward cabin was explained by the government as bomb sniffing dogs left the scent a few weeks earlier during a drill. That was exposed as a blatant lie almost immediately. The point of the exercise is that rocket fuel residue WAS FOUND in the forward cabin, even after being in the ocean for days. That the government tried more than one way to obfuscate that reality and people are now unable to focus upon the FACT that residue was present tells us how successful government lying is.
I am in awe of Clinton’s ability to maintain this conspiracy. He must be a god.

That was my only problem with the "missile" theory... If it was terrorists, why didn't anyone claim responsibility? If it was the Navy in an accident, I just don't believe that the secret could have been kept.
Who was on-board that it needed to be taken down?
I seem to recall there was a politician on the flight... A House member or Senator, but I can't recall a name.

Sure thought I remember from that time that at the altitude the 747 was at, it was higher than any available MANPAD could reach, and had to be something bigger.

Pierre Salinger had radar imiges from France showing the missile track, it played on national TV.

From one report I read that residue was from a test so dogs or some sniffer equipment could locate it. It was invisible.

There **were** radar tracks from JFK. A video recording of them, sourced from the air traffic control system. was published for a while on YouTube. The relevant portion was about 8 seconds long, and was very clear. Copies may still be extant in private collections.
The couple from Florida who conveyed these recordings to the internet were arrested and prosecuted rather quickly and haven't been visible since then. Presumably there was a stringent plea bargain that kept them out of jail and supressed the need for a public trial.
The official explanation of the records was that they were "artifacts of the radar system" and that "disclosure was unauthorized".

Then there are people such as yourself who need to muddle in the mud and just cast aspersions on those that look for answers. i had direct access to high res photos of the re constructed airframe, and, with both military experience, and, civilian, i came to the same conclusions that the senior crash investigators came to. it is unfortunate, that the results were ignored by people like yourself, who want to believe that something else happened.
