Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didnt want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built.
The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bills authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.

Trouble is we've got about a week to go here and it looks to me like Marco is trying to run out the clock.
The illegals running around in my neighborhood appear to be in a good mood lately. Makes me sick. They’re smiling as they rape me, and my government forces me to tolerate it.
RUBIO, Mccain, Graham....who are the other two open-boarder a-holes?
I’ll do whatever I can to have Rubio voted out of office. What a traitor to America.
Forget employer sanctions. Build a barrier. It is simply ridiculous to say it cannot be done. If one fence won’t do it, then build a second 100 yards behind it. And then build a road for patrols in between. Put in cameras. Put in sensors. Put out lots of patrols.
Can’t be done? Israel’s border fence has been extraordinarily successful in keeping out potential infiltrators who are far more determined than mere immigrants. Nor have very many North Koreans crossed into South Korea in the past 50 years.
Generations of American politicians, for whatever reason, saw it in their interest to defend the integrity of the US's borders.
They no longer do, obviously.
I'd like to know why.
they all believe the only way to “reach out to hispanics” is to give them stuff.
Its got to be something else.
I dunno. Maybe its something as simple as cowardice.
% of electorate that are hispanic that voted in 2012 =8.4%(11 million)
even winning 70% of their votes, Romney still would have lost.
party of stupid.
