A trio of Republicans in the so-called Gang of Eight huddled with leading figures at Fox News Channel on the bipartisan effort in the Senate to reform the nation's immigration system, according to a piece published in this week's issue of The New Yorker.
The story, written by Ryan Lizza, indicated that Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had discussions with "top hosts" at the conservative cable news network, including Bill OReilly, Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto, all of whom are " now relatively sympathetic to the Gangs proposed bill."

I was without my computer for over a year...was in no rush to replace the monitor. Couldn’t believe how much of life I was missing out on...and no worries about politics was refreshing.
Have decided there really isn’t anything any of my fretting and stewing will change. And the protesting doesn’t either...writing congressman and phoning falls on deaf ears.
I like you tube...I get to pick and choose what i want to view...take tours of other countries...listen to other leaders....Oh my gosh! Maybe I’m turninng into a “Citizen of the World! HA!
FNC has always been welcoming of immigration amnesty but I have seen Cavuto do a lot of segments on how much it will cost the government in benefits.
I posted a few times that I noticed that FNC was ignoring what is going on with the Senate bill and instead sprending all time reporting and opinionizing on the three scandals even though they are unlikely to produce.
I think its a convenient cover to get amnesty passed.
All the GOP noise on those three stories likely to produce little or nothing and Obama gets a major legacy victory ala GOP. They definitely see us as stupid.
” All the GOP noise on those three stories likely to produce little or nothing and Obama gets a major legacy victory ala GOP. They definitely see us as stupid. “
BINGO!
Yep. The scandal cover is clearly part of a, as they say, bipartisan plan to get amnesty passed.
I cancelled cable also. I would like to watch some of the shows on FoxNews, but there are plenty I wouldn’t watch if you paid me.
Jerry Rivers? Please! O’Really? No! Smithead? Heavens no.
I guess they’ll simply have to pass it, for anyone to know what’s in it.
Honestly, I still think someone who shall remain nameless will find a way to back the bill.
BTW: Your premise is sound IMO.
And remember Hannity saying that the CBO was "The gold standard" when it came out with initial estimates unfavorable to Obamacare? I said to my TV screen, "You idiot, when they change their estimates, if you say they are now wrong, they are going to throw that "Gold standard" comment right back at you!
Liar!
Hannity means well, but I think of him as a shallow pool rather than a deep well.
Cap and trade almost passed into law while Fox was running 100% 24/7 Michael Jackson death stories for days. I am not kidding, zero mention of an attack on traditional energy.
Like the GOP, Fox is scared s***less somebody will say "racist." Which, I think, makes them even more vulnerable to subtle or overt blackmail.
Good comments and thoughts. I agree.
On Fox, Geraldo threw out attacks straight from the leftist playbook against Tea Partiers when they were getting started (”I didn’t see any black or brown people ....”). And I don’t think he ever apologized.
Well if he did see Black or Brown people he’s refer to them as Uncle Toms or some such.
Heraldo is an ignorant racist. There’s just no other way to put it.
LOL!
Thats why we are not watching Fox News right now.
<....”I guess theyll simply have to pass it, for anyone to know whats in it”....>
The thing weighs 24 pounds! Second only to the Obamacare Bill...and as full of tricks, twists, and turns to make any ones head spin trying to figure it out....but then like Obamacare...that IS the idea...the more complicated..the more they can steal from it and get away with it.
Hard to imagine you’d call Sarah a liar indirectly by claiming I am...
She makes it quite clear we couldn’t possibly deport the illegals...(her words)....and when asked ‘to clarify’ if she was ..”supportive of a pathway to citizenship”... she states clearly..I DO!
So what part of “I DO” don’t you understand???????
Here’s the script of her comments as follows:
As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is ...”no way”.... that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but thats not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. Theyve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is ..”equal opportunity” and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
To clarify,.... so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
“I Do”....because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
no kidding! Hannity has been nothing more than an hour long amnesty bill informercial more than a few times in recent weeks.
