Today is the seventy-third anniversary of this magnificent address to the House of Commons. The United Kingdom stood alone against the Nazi Regime and its punishing war machine. In this darkest hour, Winston Churchill delivered this stirring call to duty to the British People - and they answered heroically. God Bless them all!
GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
Sir Winston S. Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, PC, DL, FRS, Hon. RA (30 November 1874 24 January 1965)
Rule Britannia HM Royal Marines (Click)
"WHAT GENERAL WEYGAND has called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be freed and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands.
BUT IF WE FAIL, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new dark age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.
Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say,
THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR."
In the House of Commons, 16 June 1940

Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

The Lords Prayer Andrea Bocelli (Click)
DEAR LORD, who suffered torment, agony, and death upon the Cross to free our souls from the chains of iniquity, protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy.
Amen.

Indeed they are, Kathy! We are in much the same predicament now as our fathers in 1940. Every day brings forth a new threat to our Nation, to our way of life, and to what remains of Western Civilization. Would that we had the likes of Churchill, Thatcher, and Reagan to lead us now!
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
