Jeb Bush: U.S. economy needs immigrants because they’re ‘more fertile’
Washington Post ^ | June 14, 2013 | Aaron Blake

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”

“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Bush said immigrants are an advantage that the United States has over China, Europe and Japan, which don’t have the same immigrant tradition and are struggling to find young laborers.

“If we don’t do it, we will be in decline, because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to be able to work hard,” Bush said.

Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigrant, has long been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.

Which is why Obamacare subsidizes contraception.

“there is no difference between cultures”

We agree on that point. There is a difference. On sees value in children and one chooses to abort their children.

He’s making national decisions based on his own experience and blind to the facts. That’s the reason I finally signed up because of the Terri fiasco and he, as governor, was a chump! If he had any deep seated values - he would have been 100 times more aggressive. He wanted to just get along and not start a raucous against the big boys.

He’s no patriot - just a wet noodle going through life under the radar until he grows up and it never happened. Now it’s his turn - another wet noodle for the GOP, to follow romney, mc cain and dole. Not surprised dole was chosen to represent viagra.

“just shows what you think you know about eligibility is very limited”

Born in Canada = not eligible. Sorry.

I love Cruz, but he’s not eligible for the presidency.

There’s a reason why the Founders wanted a president born in the country. Arguing that Americans can be adequately represented by a Canadian will destroy what’s left of the conservative coalition.

You’ve spent the last 5 years arguing against Obama because he’s foreign born and now turn around when convenient to argue for someone you like born outside of America? If Americans aren’t going to vote for someone who is born in America, who will?

“Then why have they restricted the number of children a family can have, Jeb?”

So you *support* lunacy like the One Child policy which is going to crush China?

Because it's his initials: John Ellis Bush. I think there was a cousin he didn't want to be mixed up with.

All valid points, but if we reach the next election without chaos in the U.S. I'd be really surprised.

My prediction. The U.S. will experience more muzzie mayhem on our soil caused by further intervention in the cesspool of the middle east, uncle sugar will cram through anti-2nd amendment legislation, immigration reform will legalize millions of illegals, civil disobedience will begin over obozocare and tyranny fatigue of more scandals and fed oppression.

Folks will just have their fill of gubbamint placing foreigners interest over that of American citizens.

The F-reserve will attempt a pull back on QE, the markets will react. Folks will lose lotsa $$$ thinking they must hang on, the markets gotta go back up.

Interest rates will rise, swelling the national debt a few hundred billion. Housing starts will slowdown or stop. The economy will slow even further, unemployment will rise.

There will likely be a wider regional conflict in the middle east. Israel will have no choice but to act against Iran. Strong possibility that Syria could aim to pull Israel into their civil war in an effort to rally the muzzie. When this happens, Damascus could be destroyed by Israeli retaliation. Russia could be pulled in.

We could see more muscle flexing by the Chi-coms. They've been intimidating Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam.

Sounds pretty damn grim, but we are a stones throw from all of this.

.
.

Jeb Bush’s wife was a Mexican citizen

Jeb illegally smuggled her across the border and married her in Texas

That is all you need to know about Jeb Bush

His (now millionaire) wife was caught committing federal felonies by smuggling valuable items into the USA without declaring them

As far as “fertile” - a rat is fertile too -

His daughter turned out to be a crazy cocaine addict

His son illegally campaigned in Mexico

Go away Jeb

Enough of your bullcrap

Even if the $50 for a head of lettuce cost were correct, which it is not, we should be paying what it legitimately costs to produce and deliver.

The illegal workforce has artificially lowered the true cost of many aspects of our economy, from house construction, house repair, landscaping, to food production.

What this creates is a HIDDEN BUBBLE in those sectors of the economy that profit from illegal workers.

If we grant amnesty and all those workers suddenly become legal, there were be a massive pop in all those bubbles as those employers are forced to pay at least minimum wage and to pay all the other costs associated with having legal workers (Affordable Healthcare quickly climbing to the top of the list).

I agree. I have so lost any faith in the Republican Party to produce a viable CONSERVATIVE candidate. The problem is, even if the GOP could produce a conservative candidate, the old wishy washy crowd would just push them aside or corrupt them within one year of election. At this point the best thing to do would be to flush the whole bunch and start over and the only way to do that is with States dropping out and fighting, I just don’t see that happening. The Sheeple are too comfortable and complacent.

we are contributing to it by giving support to the republican party which treats conservatism like a bastard step-child.

It’s refreshing to hear Paul and Cruz and a few committee members, but they are not running the party.

We keep doing the same thing and we keep getting the same results ever since 84.

It’s time to move on and I don’t mean dot org.

Funny isn’t it?

If anything makes them more fertile - it’s the culture they come from that is more open to new life.

The democrats seduce them as they arrive here and immediately begin preaching the culture of death.

Jeb shows how clueless republicans are.

Not only are they NOT going to vote republican...but the more liberalized they become the less fertile they will be.

When Christie was running here in NJ he told a bunch of ‘’Hispanic activists’’ that ‘’illegal aliens haven't broken any laws''. And at the time he was a U.S attorney. If he runs as our candidate we're toast.

>>It’s time to move on...<<

Yes, it is. I've always been an independent conservative, but of coarse vote with the republican party most of the time because of the whole...lesser of two evils thing.

McCain? Jeb Bush? Romney? C Cristie? Oh my!
