Islamists said to execute 15-year-old Syrian boy for heresy
AMMAN (Reuters) - Members of an al Qaeda-linked Islamist group in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo executed a 15-year-old boy in front of his parents on Sunday as punishment for what the group regarded as a heretical comment, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Mohammad Qataa was shot in the face and neck a day after being seized, said the pro-opposition monitoring group, which is based in Britain and uses a network of observers across Syria.
"The Observatory cannot ignore these crimes, which only serve the enemies of the revolution and the enemies of humanity," said the group's leader Rami Abdulrahman.
A photo released by the Observatory showed Qataa's face with his mouth and jaw bloodied and destroyed, as well as a bullet wound in his neck.

It seems to me that we recently fought a major war in Iraq to replace a Sunni led government with one led by the Shiites.
So now we want to install a Sunni government in Syria. What am I missing here?

Here you have a young boy, the hope of the next generation, and he is beheaded? Is this the act of an enlightened people?
Frankly I think the West should re-examine it’s policies regarding the followers of Islam, but putting that aside for a moment, what are the followers of Islam thinking of this?
We are told not all followers of Islam approve of this stuff. We are told that over and over and over again.
Okay, then where is the evidence of that?
Where’s the voice of the membership on this?
Where is the voice of the leadership of Islam?

Harsh, but in a way I can understand the listener getting peeved with this apparent sloppiness in the use of spatial references. The young lad should have said, 'Even if the "Prophet" [and here he should have made the finger quotes in the air when he said "Prophet"] ... 'Even if the "Prophet" Mohammad crawls up from the pit (of hell), I will not become a believer'. Then the listener could have nodded in agreement, rather than getting pissed off because the youngster did not understand the difference between up and down. Harsh, I know, but I can understand the irritation. /s
