Are they righting a wrong or wronging the Wrights?
The Connecticut Senate passed a bill Tuesday evening that would delete the Wright brothers from history, explicitly stripping recognition for the first powered flight from Orville and Wilbur and assigning it to someone else.
The Governor shall proclaim a date certain in each year as Powered Flight Day to honor the first powered flight by [the Wright brothers] Gustave Whitehead and to commemorate the Connecticut aviation and aerospace industry, reads House Bill No. 6671, which now sits on the governors desk awaiting passage into law.
"Theres no question that the Wright brothers retain their place in aviation history," Republican state sen. Mike McLachlan told FoxNews.com. And rightfully so. They just weren't first." The governor is likely to sign the bill as early as next week, he said.
In March, aviation historian John Brown unveiled what he calls photographic proof that Whitehead flew over Connecticut in 1901, two years, four months, and three days before the Wright brothers.
"At least in Connecticut, aviation history now appears to have been rewritten, Brown told FoxNews.com Wednesday. I have no information about whether school books will be reprinted in time for the start of Fall classes.

Wright Brothers...red state. That other clown...Communist state.Nothing to see here folks.
Wright Brothers....purpleish state. That other clown....Communist state. Nothing to see here folks. There fixed it....lol.
I always that it was some Greek God who was the first one to fly. the problem he got to high and close to the sun and the wax melted the feathers fell off and he dropped to the ground. the fall did not kill him it was the sudden impact.
Not just controlled flight, but sustained flight. The most historically significant happening in the field of flight was the development of a heavier-than-air craft whose airborne range was for all practical purposes limited only by fuel capacity. The Wright Brothers' first powered flight would not have been historically significant but for the fact that it paved the way for sustained flight. Even if someone else could fly with some degree of control before the Wright Brothers did so, such ability would be historically insignificant if they didn't develop the ability to fly for miles at a stretch.
It was also the first use of stealth technology. Plane had a sheet over it.
He “claimed”he did it,but never Backed it up.
Keep in mind, this coming from the same constitution-hating communist imbeciles that just outlawed .22 rifles. Constitution State, my azz. Communist State would be more like it. This state is being run by the insane.
“Edison purchased Fergie Jenkins patent to keep film from flapping around in movie projectors”
And Fergie still had time to win 284 games and strike out over 3,000 batters! : )
My bad, Charles FRANCIS. Not sure where I got it in my head his name was Ferguson

Or Dayton, Ohio for that matter. CT really has their heads up their behinds lately.
CT is going about this in the wrong way. We all know that if you just tell Susan Rice to say it, it will be accepted as fact. Obama better intervene and straighten this out. (Is a sarcasm tag really required?)
That 2003 entry said the Wrights used catapults for takeoff.
What are your thoughts on this?
That’s a glider, it doesn’t have its own propulsion.
“If it isnt documented, it didnt happen.”
Correct. Just like lawyer friends always tells me, it’s not the truth that counts, it’s what evidence and how many witnesses you can stroll into the court room. It’s a frikkin’ drawing for crying out loud.
When did the Germans bomb Pearl harbor?
Evidence in Hartford? With the exception of a few Sens. and Reps. they do what the want. Phone calls, letters and email are just to make you feel like they care.
Hopefully the good folk in NC will mobilize and take out the trash in Conn and remove the restrictive gun laws after they take over.
