Last Fridays cross-dressing day at a Milwaukee elementary school proved contentious.
The school-sponsored event was one of the theme days during school spirit week at Tippecanoe School for the Arts and Humanities. While the themes for each of the other days were sufficiently milquetoast, Gender Bender Day as it was originally named raised a few parental eyebrows.
Members of the schools student council chose the transvestite theme, reports WITI-TV. The idea was straightforward: boys were encouraged to dress like girls and girls were encouraged to dress like boys.
Deidri Hernandez, the mother a second-grader at Tippecanoe, found out about the plan and complained to the principal, reports EAGnews.org. School officials allegedly responded by saying that the schools actions were not illegal. At the same time, officials also opted to change the themed days name to Switch It Up Day.
I didnt have a problem with the title. I had a problem with the activity taking place, Hernandez told EAGnews. In her view, the notion of sponsoring a cross-dressing day at a grade school is ridiculous and creepy.
They might as well call it Transgender Day, the irate mother opined.
Another parent told WITI that he doesnt want his son to attend school dressed as a girl.
I think its just teaching them the wrong lesson about gender, father Sam Ward told the local FOX affiliate. If youre a boy, stay a boy.

The guy CAN regain masculinity, but it will required focused effort and won’t be easy.
I remain unconvinced he ever gets it back, but you could be right. I would certainly hope so.
Principal Krupar appears to be a little light in the loafers.
Don't know if I'd go that far. A boy can put on a dress and still be a boy and a girl can wear pants and still be a girl. It's just clothes. However, this type of social experimentation has no place in our school systems. Like I said in the earlier post, go back to school uniforms like they did up until the 1960s. Put the focus on learning and prepare them for the dress codes they will encounter in the work place. Letting kids dress however they want in school turns most of them into slobs and makes it difficult for them to gain employment later on.
I know what you mean. We used to laugh at old time comedies where men dressed as women. It was truly funny. We never considered the possibility of them seriously liking the role. They were just doing it for laughs. Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my favorite movies. The gay mafia has changed what was once lighthearted fun into an insidious purpose. I don’t laugh anymore. I just turn off the TV.
that shouldn’t lead to abnormal psychosexual development or anything.
If it gets bad enough to pull him into outright homosexuality or related paraphilia, this can raise the issue intensely enough to force him into seeking a solution. The solution can, in fact, be found within the bounds of small-o orthodox Christianity. And in the process, he will learn more things about God than most “normal” church goers ever dreamed about.
What the hell kind of "parents" do these kids have?
If it were just the clothes, I’d probably agree. There’s more to this than clothes though, IMO.
And dressing this way and asking the kids to think in terms of the opposite sex, which is undoubtedly going to be part of the lesson plan, can do real harm.
Not only this they take recess away from boys who must have it for social manly growth. And they essentially brow beat the manliness out of them in every other way too.
These young boys are being turned into girls.
The bible did warn about this for a reason; chosen garments reflect one’s self perception, which is context dependent. In a hypothetical society where nobody cared if he or she was wearing skirts or pants, the context would be gone. But as long as there is a context and it is defied, then it bespeaks a warped frame of mind.
Yes, if he’s lucky enough to have access to an outlet like that. I doubt many people in that situation realize there are ‘helps’ out there.
well, given that kids do bumble around with absurd ideas on their own, encouraging the bumbling to go in the wrong direction is not exactly charitable
About the only day where such behavior might be acceptable is Halloween. Liberals are such ignorant people.
If you send your kids to this school, you should be in prison.
The “common church” really ought to learn more about it. Often its vocabulary for dealing with such things stops at “it’s wrong.” We ARE going to see more and more of it happening, though, and if Christ’s people are ready to respond in a balanced fashion of calling males so affected to responsibility and love, they will be equal (or at least more equal than before) to the challenge.
I do support the idea of there programs so don’t get me wrong. I believe there is value in them, and I do believe they can be successful.
Can I say that and still admit I do have some misgivings about turning these guys loose on women. It would be terrible to see these guys fail destroying a young home with a kid or two in them, or even later on in the relationship.
