Washington Post reporters Karen DeYoung and Scott Wilson (prompted, undoubtedly, by Team Obama) find that David Petraeus is to blame for the trouble in which the administration finds itself over the Benghazi talking points. It’s not exactly a case of “blame the dead guy” — more like blame the unfaithful guy, even if he is an American hero. In the Post’s telling, Petraeus drafted talking points that exceeded the scope of what the House Intelligence Committee asked for. Thus, the talking points had to be changed, and that led to Benghazigate. Team Obama’s defense has thus come full circle.

If Petraeus doesn’t come clean at the hearings, he deserves everything that happens to him. He screwed up by having an affair (honey trap?). Then he’s blackmailed to keep his silence. Then after the election, he’s thrown under the bus.
If Petraeus tell the truth and explains he was blackmailed, people will believe him and that will complete the circle of who obama is. Evil dictator.
If Petraeus tells the truth, there are only two things Obama can do to him (short of arranging for an “accident”): take away his pension, and sic the DOJ on him. He might be afraid that having Holder go after him on criminal charges would be a little too obvious even for the media. I’m not sure if he has the power to deprive Petraeus of his pension—but he can find other ways of making a living, and if at some time in the future there is an honest (non-Democrat) President in the White House, the pension might be restored.
His wife also got some cushy high paying job in the Obama administration after Petraeus resigned. Anything to keep him quiet. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him. He knew there was no video and he kept his mouth shut.

“All I know is what I read in the papers”, but didn’t I read that the CIA wouldn’t give American Stinger missiles to the Libyan opposition? Petraeus was in charge of the CIA. And then I read in the papers that The State Department gave American Stinger missiles to the opposition in Libya. Hillary Clinton was in charge of the State Department. And isn’t all this Benghazi trouble with those opposition people in Libya? So, Petraeus wouldn’t help these people that murdered four Americans, but Hillary Clinton did help those thugs that murdered four Americans. Yes, I can see how the Washington Post would blame Petraeus for Benghazi. And, by the way, who was the President when Hillary was aiding the thugs who killed the four Americans? Why, that would be President Obama. I’m sure the Washington Post will run that story. I’ll bet I read it in tomorrow’s papers.

PMJI - I do not believe Petraeus has, or ever had, the genuine courage, honor and integrity to do what is called for if there is to be any hope of saving our country. He has always been one of those politically ambitious, self-important "perfumed princes", as David Hackworth termed them.
Even worse, I believe that almost our entire military General and Command staff are either actively complicit, hopelessly compromised, or too afraid of the consequences to their careers and/or families to stand and honor their oaths.
I sincerely hope that I'm wrong about this assessment, but think about this: were it not so, would not the Joint Chiefs, Petraeus, McChrystal and many others who, when given the orders that any military strategist and tactician, historian and pretty much anyone who can read a map, to send our military into the strategically irrelevant, land-locked, resupply nightmare, Vietnam redux trap that is Afghanistan (at least Vietnam had excellent seaports), under Rules of Engagement that basically required them to be sitting ducks waiting to be slaughtered or maimed by both their "official" enemies, the Taliban, as well as their so-called "allies" in the Afghan military whom they helped train, would have stood forth, resigned their commissions so they could speak, and then told the truth about the murderous, insane and treasonous policies of our national command?
The fact that they didn't even attempt any such public repudiation of an out of control civilian "regime" told me that the point of no return had already been passed, at least as far as our "military leadership" is concerned.
Anyway, we'll soon know whether Petraeus possesses any remaining character. I hope you all have an enjoyable holiday.
Washington Post Blames Benghazigate on Petraeus
In a way, I’m glad the Washington Post did this. Maybe it will prompt Petraeus to come forward, name names, and set the record straight as to who did what, and when.

The Post is doing as they are ordered to do in order to toss into the dissonance another distraction from the truth. They vermin at the Post know they’re serving liars and just don’t care. One begins to think the vermin enjoy lying to the public, showing they relish their fifth column role in destroying the We The People Constitutional Republic.
Please count me in for anything that would help to bring that disgusting, reprehensible holder down in flames.
