One day before President Obama is due to deliver a major speech on national security, his administration on Wednesday formally acknowledged that the United States had killed four American citizens in drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan.
In a letter to Congressional leaders obtained by The New York Times, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. disclosed that the administration had deliberately killed Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical Muslim cleric who was killed in a drone strike in September 2011 in Yemen.
The American responsibility for Mr. Awlakis death has been widely reported, but the administration had until now refused to confirm or deny it.
The letter also said that the United States had killed three other Americans: Samir Khan, who was killed in the same strike; Mr. Awlakis son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, who was also killed in Yemen; and Jude Mohammed, who was killed in a strike in Pakistan.
These individuals were not specifically targeted by the United States, Mr. Holder wrote.
While rumors of Mr. Mohammeds death had appeared in local news reports in Raleigh, N.C., where he lived, his death had not been confirmed by the United States government until Wednesday.
According to former acquaintances of Mr. Mohammed in North Carolina, he appears to have been killed in a November 2011 drone strike in South Waziristan, in Pakistans tribal area. Mr. Mohammeds wife, whom he had met and married in Pakistan, subsequently called his mother in North Carolina to tell her of his death, the friends say.

Who's to say what constitutes a terrorist act, especially with this administration?
We've already seen the IRS target conservatives and conservative groups. Whats to say they don't off someone on FR, while their in a foreign country on vacation, while the admin claims them as a terrorist (for speaking against Zero)?
Even if it is Obama, I am not manager to have any outrage. Four jihadis killed is a good thing - their American “citizenship” is irrelevant.
Are we seeing the administration trying to get in front of someone spilling the beans?
It’s almost the more absurd, the more they like it.
Some of these comments like Hillary’s would have gotten her canned in short order years ago. Now it’s just more noise.
Why didn't they wait until Friday? Fridays are even more fun these days.
Because there’s so much, they can’t wait for Friday for everything. LOL
"The Docu Dump Show." Premieres Friday on FOX.
LOL, is that for real?
No, but who knows? ;-)
Were NOT specifically targetted? Why the hell not? Target terrorists on the battlefield regardless of nationality.
You may very well be right given Obama’s unparalleled proclivity as ultimate pathological entity, employing his sinister, super-herculean powers to weasel his way out of harm’s way, the ultimate sociopath doing what he does best.
Every sociopath for themselves.
I agree. If you’re engaged in battle against us sianora
True that! :^)
Agreed...

The future of all of us under this dictatorship,,even though we won’t be specifically targeted.
I don't know and wasn't there but I've yet to hear anything out of Holder that was the truth.

Triangle man tied to unconfirmed 9/11 bomb threat [Raleigh-Durham NC]

A man accused of being part of a terrorist cell in the Triangle has been linked to what U.S. counter-terrorism officials have called a credible but unconfirmed al-Qaida threat to set off a car bomb on bridges or tunnels in New York City or Washington.
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Jude Kenan Mohammad is among three al-Qaida leaders that investigators believe pose a particular threat because they have lived in the U.S.
Mohammad, 22, dropped out of Fuquay-Varina High School in 2006 and left the U.S. two years later to visit Pakistan, his father’s homeland.
A federal grand jury indicted him and seven other Triangle men in 2009 on charges that they conspired to carry out terrorist activities around the world. Two of the men have pleaded guilty, and the trial of four others is set for Sept. 19 in New Bern.
Federal authorities have never arrested Mohammad in the case, saying that they believe he has been in Pakistan since the indictment was issued.
