In progress. As I am writing this, they are just doing opening remarks.
Max Bacchus (sp?) has given his remarks. Orren Hatch is just finishing his now. All the usual phrases are being used, “make sure this never happens again”, etc.
I know a way to “make sure it never happens again”
Requirements to make sure this doesn’t happen again:
Abolish the IRS and income tax via amendment
Prohibit government employee unions
Bachus says this has caused the people to lose trust in the IRS. LOL
I lost my trust in the IRS about the first time I got a paycheck.
Really. I wonder where they get the idea anybody EVER trusted the IRS.
The IRS harassment EXTENDED over TWO election cycles.
Where is the accountability?
The left has made sure that the IRS is the most feared entity in the US Government.
Seriously, who would you rather have show up at your door, an IRS agent or an FBI agent?
Miller has GOT to be kidding! He’s pulling out the old “haven’t had time to prepare” line again! Is he just going to repeat word for word his evasions from LAST WEEK?
Miller regards this as “poor service”.
Since when does the witness set the agenda?
Miller says that due time considerations a statement is in writing. Did I hear that right?
Who’s talking now?
Douglas Shulman, Former IRS Commissioner.
The new witness today is previous IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, he was there a couple of years. Appointed by Bush, you know the Dems are going to shout that at every opportunity.
Now here come Miller again, “I was not aware”, blah blah. I think this is going to be a re-run on his part.
Bacchus’s second question is if Shulman knew about this, as he was there in 2012.
Appointed by Bush. Mwuahahahahaha
What a joke. Baccus stumbling around and affecting mock outrage, yet he was one of the signers of a letter to IRS to look into the Tea Party groups’ tax status. The fact that he is the person running the hearings should be the real outrage.
Baccus: “we’re not going to get definitive answers today, that’s clear.”
In my fantasy world, Hatch would ask if there was any outside influence, and Shulman would say, yeah we thought Senator Baccus’s letter asking us to spy on the Tea Party was a good idea...
Bah, here we go, yeah Hatch is just beating up Miller on the same lies in previous hearings that everybody in last week’s House hearing beat him up on.
Probably gonna be a snoozer.
