EXCERPT:
Carnival barker Jay Carney looked almost ashen Friday as he took the podium to face a suddenly invigorated press corps. Of course, the public briefing came after a private session with reporters who matter, a sure sign the White House is in full hunker-down mode and, more precisely, terrified.
Speaking for the White House, the flack said the CIA was fully to blame for the talking points. Fully. That is what was generated by the intelligence community, by the CIA, he said.
For the record, this is what the CIA generated:
Since April, there have been at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi by unidentified assailants. That line was stricken: Everything was fine there fine fine fine.
And: We do know that Islamic extremists with ties to Al Qaeda participated in the attack. That line, too, was deleted by someone. Instead, this was inserted: There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.
.........this scandal is just beginning. And the White House has picked a very bad scapegoat: the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA follows RFKs edict: Dont get mad, get even. And when the CIA gets even, it isnt pretty.
With the White House putting all blame on the agency, expect push back this week nuclear push back. Gen. David H. Petraeus, the former director forced to resign after a sex scandal, is a dangerous man to the Obama administration. Mad and intent on getting even, hes already talking, telling one reporter the talking points were useless and that he preferred not to use them at all. The floodgates will open this week, and by the end of business Friday, the scandal will be full blown...

Ah yes, ok, I think with the responses to my post I can understand why this was said.
I really appreciate the responses as well. I think the reason I am edgy on this is having the knowledge that Hillary was allowed to testify without having to take an oath, which just smacks of GOP cowardice to me, so it has left me suspicious.
But I can see why Issa might want to go out of his way to characterize his hearings as something other than what they will be portrayed as.
This whole situation with the death of 4 men, 3 of them being heroes, and then the lying about it really cuts me to the core over just how sorry a state we have allowed our government to enter.
I do not want some underling fall guy to take the rap for those. I want those who have dishonored our country and our dead to be brought to justice.
Again, thank you to all of those who responded to my post.
“it would take up to 20 hours to get them there”
So????
During the attack no one knew how long it would last. Hours? Days? Weeks?
If I call the cops or the fire department, are they going to say, “Gee, the burglar is already inside the house, or the house is already on fire, so let’s not bother going there because it would take up to 20 minutes to get there.”
What kind of stupid remark is that? How could he possibly know how long the attack would last? How could he possibly think that 20 hours would be too late? And most of all, how could he possibly justify not making an effort?
So who would be president, McCain, Biden, Pelosi, Romney, Boner?
With luck, the focus will then turn to Hillary's bad decisions...but I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.
It wasn't news that that area was volatile or that Sept. 11 was a meaningful anniversary. So why wasn't the administration ready in case action was needed? Was a flight from Aviano (far northeast part of Italy) the only option? We had nothing at any bases closer to Benghazi?
There is a Judge Janine video from before the election in which Col. Hunt and an ex CIA guy showed there were assets in Sicily which could have transited in just over two hours with all their gear. I’ll see if I can find the link. BBIAM
I have no question but that they’ve got plenty of stuff on Issa. He always pulls his punches after taking forever to make some noise on an issue.
*chuckle*
Well, his wife is already aware of his indescretions. Either she has forgiven him...or not. He sure isn’t the first man (especially a powerful man) to wander.
He really doesn’t have good hair, anyway. Besides..bald is beautiful and fashionable.
Maybe he could restore his honor by speaking the truth in these hearings. If I were Mrs. Gen Pat..I would be urging him to do so.
But on the other hand..I might just want to distance myself from the corruption of this administration and Washington in general and live my life in peace.
I'd also point out that just because Zippy and Hillary are not targets, that doesn't mean that their actions won't be looked at. If evidence points to them, they could easily become targets at some point in the future. Or maybe it is the word "target" that is problematic.
I don’t think it was a coincidence, either.
I would expect Mrs. Petr is telling him to sit down and shut up, so she doesn’t lose his pension.
Can he lose his pension at this point?
Think what the answer would be from a zealot employed in the obama regime. Want to see a watch this moment? Let the obama zealot pick up the phone and show you what an obama zealot can do. Scared yet?
If there is a way you can bet Holder would find it and apply it. These bastards are deadly evil to their core.
Petraeus was Obamas example to others thinking of flipping. Pretty ingenious as well, destroyed his credibility, forced him to retire and switched him out with a friendly.......Brennan, who suddenly has full access to every piece of intelligence......including BENGHAZI. This should scare the hell out of us.
Strategy might be at play here.
Is it smart to publicly declare that anyone is going after Hillary Clinton?
Let the chips fall.
Anyone can say that Hillary is not the target.
Then?
Things can change as more evidence comes forward.
