A schoolgirl was told off by police for drawing a hopscotch grid on the pavement, according to her father.
Officers even warned the 10-year-old she might have committed criminal damage as she played the traditional game outside her house in Ramsgate, Kent.
The angry father has lodged a complaint with Kent Police about their heavy-handed behavior.
Authorities are now investigating the incident, and admit that the officers may have gone too far when they accused Lilly of committing a crime.

Jeez.
I guess the lemonade stand is out.
‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello!
What’s all this then?
HopSCOTCH!...and is that a skirt or, in fact, a KILT?
Must be related to the Northern secessionist movement.
Well, since it’s England, they couldn’t shoot the dog, so the TWB (Thugs with Badges) had to vent their frustration somehow.
Well, at least they didn’t throw her into a reeducation camp.
Common Sense has left the police and school teacher’s lexicon.
If the cops have time to respond to this sort of "criminal" behavior, they have too many cops.
Flame away.
Throw the book at her.
May you live in the society you call for in your post, then.
Well said.
Cops on a power high! The idiot, when it rains a few times the damage will be washed away. And if that’s a street it goes to nowhere! I guess since it’s not a fancy 3-d chalk drawing it’s damage.
Oh, it’s not too many cops,
but going after the gangbangers that “tag” the whole area is too hard and dangerous.
That sounds as stupid as the police officer in Piedmont, Oklahoma, who ticketed a 3-year old for peeing in his yard.
The ticket was for several thousand $$$.
When this news hit the internet, the Piedmont mayor and city council were inundated with emails and phone calls.
Within 24 hours, the mayor and city council voided the ticket.

The only way to stop stupidity from over-zealous authority figures is to inundate the ‘officials’ with emails and phone calls and posts on internet forums.
If they see hundreds or thousands of emails pointing out their stupidity, it may eventually sink in.
It is a damn good thing the little girl was in Ramsgate, Kent and not LA or Boston. Think about the Toyota Tundra and the Boat.
But gang graffiti is considered to be the artful voice of the oppressed.
You're absolutely right. By the time she's 12, she'll have at least 5 tattoos, a nose piercing, and be pregnant. No doubt her chalk is an environmental hazard, to boot.
Off, OFF damned Sarcasm!
I would use a water hose on the sidewalk.........and you.......
