It was largely overshadowed by the Boston bombing, but on April 18, Sen. John McCain gave what might have been an important speech at the Center for a New American Security.
It was clearly aimed at rhetorically pushing back at the non-interventionist Rand Paul wing of the GOP, but at the end of the speech, McCain took things to a new level: [T]here are times these days, he said, when I feel that I have more in common on foreign policy with President Obama than I do with some in my own party.

Repeat after me. There are two parties. We must vote for any repub because Dems are worse.
Over and over....

McCain, in 2008 I voted for you because you were not 0bama and you gave us Sarah.
Now you are turning into 0bama and you don't have Sarah anymore.
Why should I like you now? Agreeing with 0bama is a sign of your malfunction. Please retire.

defining victory is easy.
we win, they lose.
And victory should ALWAYS have as it’s TOP priority, keeping OUR casualties and expenses to a minimum, while MAXIMIZING the cost in blood and treasure to our enemy until they capitulate and beg us to accept their surrender.
Until we relearn this age old lesson we will continue to have these endless wars that bankrupt us and cost us 10’s of thousands of lives.
Either fight all the way, or don’t fight at all.

Hard to believe . . . Its disgusting to think that he calls himself a Republican . . . and kisses and slobbers all over Obambis skinny, illegal-alien ass.
But he IS a Republican as is Christie, at this time.
As time goes on, but soon, I hope to see all FR conservatives disavow all addictions to the current GOPe, i.e. the Republican Party. If all true conservatives were to leave that Party in bulk, it would self-destruct in less than 5 seconds. Or 10.

Fight for what? What was the goal of these invasions? These were wars without reason behind them. It was predictable that we would end up in a long guerilla war with no good outcome. Invading Afghanistan and Iraq were the dumbest military blunders since Custer decided it might be fun to pimp with a few Indians.

The neocon fantasy of spreading democracy to the great unwashed was one of the dumbest foreign policy ideas ever concocted by those who love to send other peoples sons to fight.American blood to set in motion the "Arab Spring".
And despite current denial, the mainstream Democratic Party was also completely complicit in the madness.

Norm, please tell me that was sarcastic and meant as irony of some sort.

John McCainiac said: There are times these days, when I feel that I have more in common on foreign policy with President Obama than I do with some in my own party.I am glad that Barack Obama beat John McCain in the 2008 elections. Barack Obama is the worst POSSIBLE President, but John McCain would have been worse.

Of course, the Democrats were complicit. There’s nothing a liberal politician loves more than a war. It gins up support for and dampens criticism of the government like nothing else.

It would also be helpful if we stopped intervening on the wrong side. Clinton helped the Albanian Muslim thugs take over Kosovo, while bombing Serb civilians from the air. And Obama helped the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists take over Egypt and Libya.
And McCain cheered them both on. He just LOVES to cross the aisle and fight wars on the wrong side.

Yes it was. It was intended to mock the abundance of psuedocons bitterly clinging to the belief that the GOP is still an opposition party.

That's the spirit that made this country what it is! But I didn't know Juan was caught chewing gum in church, or not taking off his hat.

Finally, from his own mouth, the rino McCain speaks his true position.
Should have done so in 2007.

*I* say, "John McCain, f*** you for your horrible, incompetent service in the Air Force where you repeatedly wrecked aircraft, then got your sorry ass handed to you by the Vietnamese and got shot down, then collaborated with the enemy to get special privileges when a Prisoner of War. You are a piece of shit and a disgrace to the uniform, and you were turned into a dedicated American-Hating Communist by your Vietnamese captors."
