It is time for a dishwasher. My last dishwasher was replaced three times by the manufacturer before I ripped it out and started handwashing. time to go back to dishwashers and I cannot find a timed dishwasher, just ones that are ENERGY EFFIEICENT with sensors.
The biggest problem I had with the newer untimed dishwashers is that I would have to rinse the dishes instead of scraping them.
the second problem is that because I did not rinse them, they ran for six to eight hours becaus there was debris that the sensors picked up.
Lousy design.
I am looking for a good dishwasher, that can actually be effective and clean the dishes now that the EPA doesnt permit us to have phosphates. Or timed washes.
Any war stories? Most of the dishwasher reviews out there aree actually paid ad reviews placed by an agent of the manufacturer.
Forget consomer reports.
Sorry, I don't recall, nor does it say on the front...it was the basic model at the time. No bells or whistles. And to reiterate a previous reply, they are the quietest on the market IMHO.
The last dishwashers I had evenly spread and dried residue on all the dishes.
The male of the species usually phrases that question almost precisely in the reverse.

Will you give your dishwasher to me and marry me?
whatever floats your boat!
let me know if you find something. the one i put in my girl freinds fathers house when she moved in after surgery is a maytag and cost $400 doesn’t clean squat after you wash them. My 25 year old sears roebuck will clean paint off a car. the plastic containers flip over and it sounds like a freight train. but man i can stick gummy cheese/pasta in it and its all gone.
You really think only housewives deal with toilets?

I have heard that most people use them occasionally
Have had a Bosch for the last eight years. Whisper quiet, a load a day, not a single issue.
Thank you for this information. So far Bosch seems to be the clear Freeper recommended dishwasher.
Unless one can find a thirty year old good condition dishwasher.
Or marry an appliance repair man.
We have a 4 year old whirlpool dw that was in the house when we bought it. Works pretty well, I haven’t really had any complaints with it. I use a detergent called BioKleen, which I got turned on to because I don’t like all the fragrances they use in various detergents. I’ve tried TSP and didn’t notice much difference. Then I started putting just plain white vinegar in the rinse aid “cup” and everything comes out very nicely. I rarely rinse dishes before they go in, but I do run the short “rinse only” cycle.
Carry on.
I am 61 years old. Been married twice. The last time for 25.5 years. I have 2 children and so far, 4 grandchildren. My father was a contractor who built a new house every 2 years and we got to move into it if it didn't sell.
I have bought, lived in and sold 9 single-family dwellings.
I've never been exposed to any dishwasher other than myself; human or automated.
I don't understand the gripe.
Nice, very nice!
But I've soldered enough copper pipe....to know what that's like.
Tell you a funny story.........
I lived in SoCal when my kids were little...Had some great neighbors that were retired...and they adored my kids..and my kids adored them.
Had a backed up sewer..that I couldn't clear. Even with a roto-rooter. I lived in an older home...with clay-pipe sewer lines.
The line ran out from under my bathroom...along the property line of my neighbor. Right next to his driveway.
Anyway...I had dug up most of the line...and busted holes in the pipe..cleaned the clog and got things to flow again.
So I was out there...talking to my neighbor, telling him I was going to fix this the next day...with new ABS pipe, and fittings...all the while we are looking at an exposed in places sewer line.
Then I hear the bathroom toilet flush....I'm sure I looked pained...as the water, crap and kernels of corn come racing by!!!
My neighbor looks at me and says, "Guess you all had corn on the cob last night!" I could have died!!! LOL!!!
It is like George Jetson and his wife Jane go camping!
I get enough attention...without doing any of that!! Ha!!!
I have a warm rinse, but this machine is several years old.
I have been washing the dishes. As a matter of fact I had a dishwashing sink installed. White porcilin, double drainboard, double tub circa 1962.
Works like a charm.
I want a trash compactor.....
Could care less about a dish washer!! Ha!!
see my last post.
Time for a dishwasher.
Thank you. I have had old Maytags. My horror brand was Kitchenaid.
Had not heard of this chemical. I plann on doing a lot of canning and jars need to be cleaned and recycled.
