Ammunition sellers and manufacturers say theres been a run on bullets and they cant keep their shelves stocked.
Jeff Dillard who runs National Armory in Pompano says its the worst hes ever seen.
I have never seen ammo so impossible to get, said Dillard.
He said demand for ammunition has been growing and spiked over the past couple of days.
Because of the terrorist attacks and the gun control legislation people are getting in more of a panic situation, Dillard said.
When he can get bullets, Dillard says, theyre expensive.
We paid five times the price we would normally pay, he said, adding that it isnt just ammunition running low, he cant even get the parts to make bullets. All our vendors are telling us not only are they out of stock but some are two to three million bullet-heads in back-order. They wont even take our orders because they dont know when theyll be able to fill them.
Ammunition manufacturer Andy Delatorre says can hardly keep up with ammunition orders, but the shortage on parts has hurt his business so much he had to lay off four people last month.
We have had to shut down 50 percent of manufacturing process. People are out on street without jobs right now. We just cant find enough raw material, he said.
Ammunition manufacturers and sellers say they see no end in sight to the demand for bullets. A lot of the distributors and suppliers are telling us it could be 2-3 months before we can get an ample supply of ammo and all thats going to do is to drive up the prices, said Dillard.
Indeed.
One of the on air bimbettes said this during the search-
"People in Cambridge are literally frozen inside their homes".
I thought to myself, "are they out of firewood"?
I worked in pbs for a number of years in a member station. Many times I cringed behind the camera or in a tape bay listening to horrid writing and mediocre delivery.
Yeah, you’re right.
And bullets are flying off the shelves! LOL
Just a few weeks ago, many HERE were angrily repeating the headlines, telling us derisively that manufacturers were operating at 100%, AS ALWAYS, and that we were fools to believe otherwise.
Oh, and we’re supposed to believe that large orders of ammo by the government are business as usual and we were called idiots if we didn’t agree.
Primers, specifically—powder, spotty, but just be vigilant. Even the Rooskies are shippin primers.
Oh oh, that’s gonna piss off Freeper Johnny.
I am flabbergasted at the cluelessness this represents. Heck, I’m seeing the shortage starting to ease a tad. This has been ongoing since a week or two after Sandy Hook. These guys are just now catching on?
Chris W. Cox’s Message to Gun Owners on Their Victory in the Senate
“...As you know, however, we can take only measured comfort from this weeks success. In his bitter response to the Senates votes, President Obama said that this fight is far from over, and thats the one thing that he is right about.
Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), sponsor of the gun control bill debated this week, has promised to bring his bill up at a more opportune moment. Obamas Organizing for America, billionaire Michael Bloombergs Mayors Against Illegal Gun Guns, and former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Americans for Responsible Solutions will focus their efforts on defeating pro-Second Amendment senators in 2014.”

In the wake of the defeat of Barack Obama and the Democrats massive gun control push in the Senate, word is coming out that he is readying executive orders to use to push his agenda.
The elusive silver bullethead. Sounds like something right out of The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Well, just get yourself an AR-57 double barrelled shotgun and some ten guage DOUBLE bullet heads, those are readily available.
A buddy of mine has a Dillon progressive press. The last 3 weekends have been spent working at it. On Friday night we clean and polish brass. On Saturday we size and trim. On Sunday, we load like madmen. Last weekend was 1500 rounds of 5.56 with 55 grain boat tail soft points.
This weekend it’s .308 with 168 grain Sierra Match Kings, 1000. I’ve had those bullets in storage for about 5 years. Time to turn everything we have into cartridges. I mean everything.
And here I though bullettes were female bulls.
Agree... Just was separating brass this am when I read this post. Cleaning a batch of 357 Sig now .... Agree on the all components concept right now.
Load what ya have folks....
Hope yer well Marine !
Stay Safe !
People literally use the word literally in such a way that it indicates that they literally have no idea of the real meaning of the word literally. I am literally tired of hearing the word literally being so literally misused.
Do you literally mean that?
