Just hung up, well, they hung up on me, from someone called "Tea Party Patriots".
Of course they wanted money, touted the Constitution, etc.
I told this woman the most important thing right now is the 2nd amendment, and where in these few issues she was spewing about fell.
She started to speak of the Constitution, etc....I cut her off stating they are trying to take away our guns. Registration leads to confiscation; hence, termination.
She skirted around this but I would not allow her. I again asked her WHERE does the right to bear arms fit in and again, she gave me the run around.
I advised her if she wanted to make any progress with her "phone calls" that should be the #1 issue.
I reminded her once again....registration leads to confiscation.....then termination.
She hung up on me.
Anyone get any similar calls?
There is a group out there that goes by the name of Tea Party Patriots. I wonder how you got on their call list?
I didn’t know that the tea party was getting involved in 2nd amendment issues. Sounds more like someone is using the name for cover.
Probably because I’m on several Tea Party lists.
As well as a donor for the Tea Party.
I’ve also called many upon many congress critters leaving my name and number.
I recall a recent thread about the SS gathering info on all of us.
Not me, but I dumped the hardline phone a couple months ago and if I don’t recognize an incoming call on my cell, I don’t answer.
I am done spending money on any of this nightmare.
The Tea Party is the Constitution. If you’re involved in the Tea Party in any way, they have your info.
I don’t have a hardline, just my cell.
Didn’t McConnell just say something about the meeting being rigged?
So, what was the point of being nasty with a telemarketer for the Tea Party Patriots?
You realize that conservative organizations hire telemarketers just like everyone else, and they aren’t all as well versed on every issue as maybe you are.
You either think the Tea Party Patriots are a good cause or you don’t, there was no reason to get snippy with her.
Sounds like you’re on the “will donate money” list. :(
Their web site says they stand for “Constitutionally Limited Government”, so I don’t know why they wouldn’t agree on the 2nd Amendment. Probably outside of the caller’s script, though.
It is well within the rules of the stinkin rat party that they would falsely take your money. Hell, that applies to the RINOs as well. Beware!!
I agree. I do not give money to organizations that call me. Never know who they really are.
I got snippy because taking away our right to defend ourselves is front and foremost.
I did not post the entire conversation. I advised her if she wanted people to listen, the 2nd amendment should be #1 on the list.
History. History tells us all we need to know. Obviously she had NO idea what she was asking of me, except for money, and when questioned she hung up on me.
Tells me all I need to know.
Whoever 'they' are, I end up deleting 3 or 4 beg-e-mails per week from 'em.
Re the phone calls: Digitone Call Blocker
I know things are tight all over, but it's worth every penny.
That after exploring methods of causing permanent hearing loss to spam callers; but that would have required time out of my day, and that little box above handles it w/o intervention.
cheers
Okay. Maybe Syncro can chime in because IIRC, he is involved with the party Express. Beware of teaparty.net and TPNN.. ‘tea parties’names have been hijacked and are just fund raising scams, run by lobbyists. They use only the internet..because it costs them nothing. I’m starting to wonder if they’ve all been hijacked!
[snip]Tea Party News Network is in cohorts with TheTeaParty.net, a clone of The Tea Party Patriots whose main purpose is to make money and get names and email addys of tea partiers.
Both have been quite successful in those areas.
And they both have tried their best to be seen as THE leaders of the Tea Party Movement.
The TPP were quite aggressive when they started up, and attacked The Tea Party Express and sent emails to all their signups denigrating the TPX.
Probably because the TPX was doing high profile nationwide tours in order to promote tea party principles and TPP wanted all the attention and...well...money.
The guy that started theteaparty.net (Todd Cefaratti, Freedom Organizer) is associated with the Tea Party News Network and ironically enough they both have the same address....in a “virtual” office space in DC right down the street from the White House. $149 a month.
It’s only natural that they would diss Palin, who is a stand up Tea Party type of individual.
There is more information showing that these people are outside of conservatism, and don’t adhere to Tea Party principles...unless as a cover to make money.
They begged for extra money before CPAC to “protect” Scottie Nell Hughes because the nasty leftists were threatening her, or so they say.
Here’s a link to a thread here at FR where Cefaratti introduced himself to Free Republic as a tea party guy. He is so full of himself he said that this blog...Free Republic...”was started to look in to the validity of our organization”
He was called on many falsehoods, such as saying he did a nationwide bus tour.
He was referring to the Tea Party Express tour, which he had NOTHING to do with.
He slunk away from FR and went on to make money and a “name” for himself.
And here he is with another organization and hyping his orgs as THE TEA PARTY!
The Tea Party Movement is alive and well in spite of those that try to co-opt and destroy it.
It’s no surprise that they want to marginalize Palin, like the GOPe and liberals have been doing for some time. Not going to work.

The 2nd Admendment is a very "hot topic" right now. If they were truly Constitutionalists, would that NOT be their 1st priority?
You would think.
My Caller ID showed “TPP” the other day.
I answered—it was the Tea Party Patriots...he said.
Wanted money. No surprise.
But, I was put off by his impatience with anything I wanted to say. (had to say I was in dyer straits, $$$-wise)
At first, I was p.o.’d by his demeanor, but then thought he’s a volunteer and couldn’t spend much $$$ on phone calls to folks.
But, now...maybe something’s suspicious.
I AM the Tea Party—but will be wary in the future. Maybe give a little to those that are local.
Thanks, AuntB.
Tea Party Express I’m all for. This is the 1st time I received a call from DC USA 202-800-8260.
I thought it was from a congress critter, which is why I answered.
When I started to question her, she had no answers, except from her “dialogue’.
Then she hung up on me.
Yes, for some groups like the NRA. Others deal more with tax issues, or the pro-life cause, or protecting marriage, etc.
History. History tells us all we need to know. Obviously she had NO idea what she was asking of me, except for money, and when questioned she hung up on me.
That's because she's not a historian, she's a telemarketer. Organizations hire these people to help fund raise money. She uses a script like most telemarketers do. You got all nasty with her so she just hung up. Can't say I blame her.
