Boys and girls at an Alabama elementary school will still get to hunt for eggs – but they can’t call them ‘Easter Eggs’ have the principal banished the word for the sake of religious diversity.
“We had in the past a parent to question us about some of the things we do here at school,” said Heritage Elementary School principal Lydia Davenport. “So we’re just trying to make sure we respect and honor everybody’s differences.”

Don’t take this personal mirkwood, but WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO REALIZE WHO RUNS THE SCHOOLS.
Alabama, Texas (see tagline), EVERY DAMN STATE. In some states they are closer to the overall political leanings of the people, but I’m not even sure the people in the hard-blue states are as WHACKED OUT as the teachers and the others running the schools. It’s that bad - and they keep THROWING IT IN YOUR FACE, but you figure - it can’t happen here, happens only in those nutty places. Well, the last time that I checked, Alabama was quite red and far from “nutty”.
