Trayvon Martin's family is marking the one-year anniversary of his shooting death with a candlelight vigil in New York City.
Martin's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, are scheduled to take part in an event Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in Union Square Park, along with their attorneys and others. A moment of silence is scheduled for 7:17 p.m.
The 17-year-old unarmed black teenager was killed Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman after the two got into a confrontation. It took weeks before Zimmerman was arrested, and he has claimed he was acting in self-defense.

I caught trayvons mother on a clip that basically said the walk was to drive home the point that blak chilluns should be able to walk anywhere with no fear. ‘Kinda like the Chicago mall “disturbance”?
Miami media is having orgasms over the one year anniversary of George defending himself from his attacker. Because the attacker of George is black, the media is taking the side of the attacker.
George’s attacker is CONSTANTLY referred to as an “unarmed teen”; RARELY is it noted by the racist media that George’s HEAD WAS BEING PUMMELED INTO CONCRETE before the “unarmed teen” was stopped.
they must need some more money..
Wouldn’t it be interesting if they got mugged while they were in the big city.
Where are these two getting their funding? NYC is an expensive town.
We need to get the word out to all who are in interviews on the talk shows. ALWAYS, always, always when speaking to these people refer to THEIR ACTIVISM! They are actively promoting THEIR agenda. Every conservative that is interviewed needs to take this approach! I don't care what issue it is they are promoting their agenda and trying to label it as "journalism."
HEADLINE: Trayvon Martin activists gather in New York city to promote their agenda!
>Where are these two getting their funding?
Jackson and many others have provided lots of cash with their shakedowns for these two lottery winners. This is the best thing to ever happen to them and they are milking it for all its worth.
Instead of having to visit their wayward son on some prison visitor schedule, they get to take jets to big cities and act out their “grief” while netting big money. It’s the new reparation scheme.

United Negro College Fund
Yes: It appears that their sons death is the best thing that ever happened to this pair.
What ever happened to the fathers girlfriend?doesn’t she get to travel with them?
The parents of George Zimmermann’s attacker were just promoting their “cause” on CNN.
National Skittles Day. Will it become a government national holiday?
Obviously the left wants more “unarmed teens” to bash White heads into the ground and get away with it.
Even the WSJ buys the official narrative, ignoring that Sanford police originally found no cause for arrest.
Oops, I see it’s an AP story, not a WSJ story. That is the official narrative indeed.
I sincerely doubt that their son’s death is the best thing that ever happened to them. It would be the worst.
Their lawyers and others are using them to further their own causes/line their own pockets. Now, will they enjoy some sights and sounds from NYC? - I’m sure they will.
If I had lost my son, I wouldn’t be doing anythig they are doing, so I get that people attack them for their actions. Still, losing a child is one of the worst things they will experience.
Being physically assaulted by someone telling you you’re about to die, just because you tried to do your job, can be a rather unpleasant experience also.
Yo, and a shout-out to The Trayvon Martin® Race-Guilt Exploitation Industry - here’s one segment of the Obama economy that’s booming!!!
Liberals/leftists upset that people will actually defend themselves.
I would defend myself.
While waiting in line at the store I noticed a headline for a story in “Jet” magazine.
Trayvon Martin One Year Later”
I could write that article.
“He’s still dead!”
