Noted investor, free market advocate, and author Jim Rogers during an interview with Glenn Beck on Wednesday said that Tuesday’s State of the Union address makes you wonder whether President Barack Obama is “delusional” or just a good liar.
Our “debt is physically impossible to pay off,” Rogers said after Beck asked whether the country has passed the point of no return. “We are the largest debtor nation in the history of the world.”
“If everybody paid 100 percent of their earnings as taxes, we still couldn’t pay it off,” he added.
The famed investor then turned his attention to the president’s statement last night that our economy is getting stronger.
“Mr. Obama said last night that everything is great,” Rogers said, much to Beck’s amusement. He added: “He said that everything is great and that the middle class is on the way back and everything is fine now.”
“I mean, the man is delusional. I was really afraid when I saw that,” he continued on a more serious note. “It’s delusional. It was frightening.”
“I don’t know if he believed it or if he was just lying,” Rogers added.
“I don’t really care at this point,” Beck chimed in, “He’s either the best liar or he is completely delusional. I don’t know which it is, but it doesn’t matter.”
“There’s a whole crowd of good liars out there in Washington,” the famed investor joked.

This is a great. It’s like the little boy saying the emperor has no clothes! It’s very effective when a prominent and serious businessman speaks up and says the obvious when the media are engaged in such a massive campaign of delusions and lies on behalf of the delusional liar.

Yes, if you believe ANYTHING he says, you are also delusional. He can be trusted only to lie continually about everything. If you can think and have a memory beyond breakfast, you know this.

This is kind of amazing when you think about it. If true, and I think it is, what does that make them? Enablers? Criminals? Fellow travelers?

V, better move up that timeline. I don't know how old you are, but the US is not the country I knew growing up. How does the federal government get off regulating toilet gallons? Light bulb wattage? Car mileage? Land use? Education? I could go on, but you get the picture.
The problems are not unsolvable. A few western democracies are moving towards balanced budgets and smaller, less intrusive governments. It can be done. However, when half the population draws sustenance from the federal government, it is almost impossible to wean them off. It has to be done cold turkey. In this case, that will mean a lot of people will die from the cure.
They are all delusional, treasonous, totalitarian, liars. Crony socialism, aka BIG GOVERNMENT, grows and grows and grows. It consumes more of our lives and more of our time of life. It is ever intrusive in matters spiritual, financial, psychological, social, physical, medical, industrial and economic.

Perhaps so, using cash based accounting. However, using GAAP and accrual accounting to honestly recognize the present value of current liabilities, the shortfall, net current liability is estimated by various economists to be between $100 Trillion and $220 Trillion. In other words, it is hopeless.

No, not hopeless. You made the call using present value of income. The solution is to pay off the debt in inflated income. The compound effect of inflation at say 7% can make the present valued debt manageable in say 10 years.
Compounded Inflation will be the solution.
Obama is a trained liar (lawyer). rhetorical speech is a way to use lying as a form of speechifying. Whenever Obama speaks I always decide the opposite is the outcome that he wants to achieve. remember an oxymoron is a rhetorical figure usage. When Obama speaks always assume that the oxymoron is the intended usage - he means the opposite of what he says. Example Affordable Health actual means unaffordable health care.
I have to believe that a bunch of the people in Wash-DC know this. The fools in Wash-DC are just going to loot the treasury for as long as they can. The real delusion for these fools is believing that they will survive the collapse and the subsequent aftermath unscathed and still fully in power.
Zeros words since he hit the national scene have been completely consistent with transforming the USA into a supersized euro economy. The people that believe him are the ones that are delusional.
