Christopher Dorner Lives On As a Folk Hero (proof positive that liberalism is a mental disorder)

While most were relieved to learn that the bloody manhunt for Christopher Dorner had come to an end, for some it was the final step in the the fugitive ex-LAPD officer's martyrdom. During the manhunt, thousands of people rallied around Dorner, declaring him a crusader against police corruption, though he's accused of killing four people. On Tuesday night, a post on one of his biggest Facebook fan sites declared, "The spirit of Chris #Dorner will live on forever in our hearts, as an eternal flame - symbolic of the will to stand up in an attempt to eradicate those who would seek to oppress us, by any means necessary, when no one else would." Fueled by the claim in Dorner's manifesto that he was dismissed when he tried to report police brutality, as well as the movielike quality of his war on the LAPD, the ex-cop was quickly dubbed a hero by some. Earlier this week, dozens of Dorner flyers imitating the iconic Obama "HOPE" poster were plastered on a street in Riverside, California, near where a police officer was fatally shot on Thursday. Online supporters frequently referred to him as the "Dark Knight" and shared relevant Batman quotes. Hashtags like #WeStandWithDorner and #GoDornerGo appeared on Twitter, and dozens of fan pages were created on Facebook. The largest, We Are All Chris Dorner, has attracted more than 3,600 likes.

I don’t believe he is a hero, far from it. My impression is that he, as a member of a protected class, got incensed when he couldn’t successfully prosecute his exoneration of his firing for whatever got him canned. He then mercilessly got his revenge.

Whatever the true facts of his firing, there is some very suspicious behavior here on the part of California LEOs....they seem to have never had the intentions of getting this man arrested and judged...they’ve already done that. Why they did this could be because he attacked their own; it could also be for some other reason.

So, why did this ‘nobody’ suddenly decide that he should be a ‘somebody’ and what kind of society would make this ‘nobody’ into some kind of ‘somebody’ anyway...Why, because he was black? He’s not hero, he’s an asshole...One dead asshole and who cares about the color of his skin? It was the content of his character that ultimately led to his end, however tragic. Nobody made him do what he did. He made big plans to do it and damned if he didn’t get himself killed....So long, suckah!

What should we call the venerated members of the LAPD who shot newspaper delivery ladies and almost shot at a man on his way to the beach?

Should officers who violate the public trust be held accountable for their actions? Should perjury committed by law enforcement officers be encouraged or discouraged?

You are absolutely right in that Dorner should not be held up as any kind of hero, but neither should those members of the LAPD who have abused their positions of authority.

Neah. But after the LAPD riddled three innocents who didn’t look anything like Dorner, shot up two trucks that were different makes and colors from his, and the Sheriff’s Dept. burned down someone’s house to kill him, some of us are not going to be so blaise about “respecting their authority.”

I wonder if they would have gone to that much effort if Dorder had “just” killed “civilians.” Somehow, I don’t think so.
