...new pictures reveal ferocity of cabin shoot-out
The Daily Mail Online ^ | February 14, 2013 | THOMAS DURANTE, MICHAEL ZENNIE and LYDIA WARREN

Posted on 02/14/2013 5:47:48 AM PST by Uncle Chip

The husband and wife who say they surprised Christopher Dorner in their home, hours before he was killed in a dramatic standoff, described their terror as he bound their hands and feet. Jim and Karen Reynolds say they came to the home just before noon on Tuesday to find the fugitive had been staying in an upstairs room.

Mrs Reynolds said that Dorner seemed 'calm and methodical' when he approached them, but her first instinct when she saw him was to run away - and Dorner chased after her.

She tried to run up the stairs but was quickly caught by Dorner, who dragged her away.

Mr Reynolds said that after first trying to keep them calm, Dorner tied up their hands and feet with zip ties before stuffing washcloths in their mouths.

He then covered their faces with pillowcases and wrapped electrical cords around their heads.

'I really thought it could be the end,' she told reporters on Wednesday night.

The Reynolds said that despite early reports, it was them - and not their housekeepers - who had encountered Dorner in the home.

They said that he tried to keep them calm and told them repeatedly that he was not going to kill them. Mr Reynolds, who has been married to Karen for 36 years, added: 'He said he just wanted to clear his name.'

Mrs Reynolds added: 'He said he needed transportation out of big bear. He continued to say to us quite frequently he would not kill us and just asked us to do what he asked.

'He knelt down beside me and said "you're going to be quiet, right?"'

Nah, that wasn’t intentionally set... Imagine what the owner is thinking and I wonder what his insurance company will say or sue?

In before the ‘Pooooor Dorner” posts.

‘He said he just wanted to clear his name.’
You don’t do that by killing people stupid.
And especially NOT by killing someones daughter and then taunting him about it.

Why is it that the only reliable news U.S. stories comes from the UK?

According to the LAPD, Christopher Dorner was trying to give up cigarettes. They added that even though he died on Tuesday, he didn’t stop smoking until Wednesday.

(too soon?)

“Police departments, local governments, business leaders and police unions pool their money to offer a $1million reward two days before Dorner’s capture.

When asked about the reward, the Reynolds said that it was no longer being offered because Dorner was killed before he cold be arrested and convicted.”

That makes it easy for all of us next time when we ponder the dilemma of informing the police of a sighting, knowing that there will be a lot of official questions and media intrusion, vs just shutting up, getting on with our business elsewhere, and letting them continue to deal with it.

It’s twice repeated in the article that he “tried to keep them calm”-——no doubt an opening for the left to gush what a caring, kind man their hero is.

Didn’t this author know to capitalize “Big Bear?”

Be nice. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday after all. He took getting ashes on his forehead a little too seriously.

Obama's election marked the end of any pretense that we are still a nation of laws.

The reward was a farce from the beginning. There was absolutely no way they were going to take him alive..and everyone knows it.

I wrote about it when they first put it out.

I sure do not know Policeprocedures, but what the hell were they shooting at? I watched the video and shot were ringing out all over. My Daddy taugh t me not to shoot until I knw what I was shooting at, these people are obviously just firing at the cabin, What for?

If I had been a Police Officer there I would have been more frightened of friendly fire than Dorner.

The Daily Mail almost always amazes me on these big stories, and always in the same way: there is so much information, in this case virtually every useful detail of the entire episode, yet they never give it a final content check before putting it to bed.

Here they have accounts of both the original incorrect description of the tied-up hostages as “two maids” and the later correct description, with picture and names (not noted as a correction) that it was a husband and wife, who own the place.

‘He said he just wanted to clear his name.’

Well, murdering 4 people is probably the wrong way to go about it.

British papers are not obligated to wait for the “spin” from Democrat officials. California is a Democrat state. They need to set the agenda before the media will be allowed to run stories.
There are too many opportunities for the facts to divert the attention of the sheeple away from the agenda. The true agenda is “guns are bad” and “the LAPD needs more diversity”.

One thing that this story confirms is that Dorner was a better, cooler shot than anybody he met up with. That is a sad fact.

Will be interesting to see how the insurance company (assuming the cabin was insured) handles this. I wonder if they’ll not pay out categorizing this as an ‘act or war/terrorism’ or similar.
