San Diego family slaps Disneyland with charges of racism, say White Rabbit character shunned their kids because they are black
Jason and Annelia Black say the costumed character ignored their children, but 'showered' affection on a white family moments later. 'It made my kids feel horrible,' Jason Black said.
A San Diego family is suing Disneyland, claiming a theme park character snubbed their kids because they are black.
Jason and Annelia Black of San Diego claimed an actor in a costume for the White Rabbit character from Alice in Wonderland ignored their two sons and their cousins, who are black, during a trip in August, but then showered affection on a group of white children.
Regardless of whether the guy in the costume was a racist I don't know who he is or if hes white the way he behaved, he was treating my clients differently, the familys attorney, Dan Gilleon, told the Daily News.
And the only thing that was different about them was that they were black.
Disneyland has not commented on the incident, but says they carefully review all claims.
The Black family had visited the park just weeks before the incident and were not ignored by the rabbit, who is their son Jason Jr.s favorite character, Gilleon said.
But when they went to the park with some cousins on Aug. 11, the rabbit character shunned them, they claimed.
Jason Black, 6, with the White Rabbit character from Alice in Wonderland at Disneyland in August.
Elijah Black, 9, with the rabbit. The family claims the character turned its back on them and wouldn't touch them, but later gave hugs and kisses to a group of white children.

Not even then, because who’s going to do all the work to provide the food stamps and entitlements?
"Ya know, they coulda been MY sons..."
Translation: blackmail (pardon the pun). Show me the money.
You know as another poster pointed out..in this video one rabbit has watch around neck and the other does not appear to have one..
I can’t get over how mom was crying in interview..
LOL. Also known as the ghetto lotto.
Ouch.
Ban the White Rabbit! Ban the Word “White” Its racist! Ban the white race!
Indeed.
If the employee had cuddled with their kids, imagine their charges that would arise then? I think they had their eyes open for litigation as soon as they parked their car in the lot...nobody comes to Disney to get anonymous affection from a stranger in a bunny suit...unless you're a sicko.
A family of any other race would have moved on to Nemo's Submarine and Haunted Mansion and stuffed themselves on hot dogs...but looking for something to offend you in the most innocuous circumstances is definitely a Black Thang. They had their eyes open for lawsuit for profit the moment they stepped into the place.
In fact, if the worst thing they could come up with for their KA-CHING! litigation against Disney was that an unidentified man in a bunny suit wouldn't fondle their children, shows how positive their experience at Disney was, if this is the only piddling claim of discrimination they could present.
Whiners, deadbeats and vultures. Their forebears marched and braved police dogs, fire hoses and billyclubs in the name of civil rights, now their descendants are emotionally traumatized over the distribution of bunny hugs. PATHETIC.
Easy. They’ll start bitching about the Asians and the mexicans. It’s never their fault.
Maybe he was mugged between the two visits and it was stolen. That might have changed his attitude.

Could the performer playing the white rabbit be a black guy?
Hundreds of thousands of other children have not been fondled by the White Rabbit. This Black family is lame and looking for notoriety. Eric Holder’s people are coming out of the woodwork now. Good grief. I feel sorry for their cute kids. And the bunny.
“The ones your mother gives you don’t do anything at all.”
The actors are careful to read a child’s body language to determine how close to get to them. One child acts standoffish and other child puts her arms out for a hug from the character.
Look at Mr. Black’s child. Black gansta culture all the way...arms folded, looking too tough to touch. If they get a race quota hug game going, no child will be hugged as it is child abuse to hug a child who is signaling he does not want to be touched.
This is insane.
In the pictures everything seems fine - dare I say a kind of hip-hop attitude...
Those steps are real contrete. I thought they would have everything in bubble wrap by now.
