Once again Sarah Palin is showing that she has no plans to play by the rules.
She has parted ways with FOX News after a turbulent relationship with the conservative cable news channel, taken pot shots at pundits in the 'lame stream media' and slammed her own party for selecting Mitt Romney as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.
Now the former Alaska governor says she'll use the $1.2 million raised through her SarahPAC to 'shake up the GOP machine' and unveiled a vague vision on how she'll get her message out to a larger audience.
News broke on Friday night that she had not renewed her $1 million annual contract with FOX News, after three years as a contributor on Roger Ailes' network.
Palin then spoke out on Saturday, in an interview with Breitbart.com, saying that she was working to 'free up opportunities to share more broadly the message of the beauty of freedom and the imperative of defending our republic and restoring this most exceptional nation.'
Calling the future 'wide open' with opportunities, she shared how she plans 'to pick battles wisely, and all in due season' - hinting that she still has a fight left in her.
Her vision for the future coincided with the financial disclosure from her Political Action Committee, SarahPAC, with records released on Monday showing she ended 2012 with nearly $1.2 million in the bank.
She raised around $20,790 between Nov. 27 and Dec. 31 and spent $67,800 during that time period on expenses including consulting, speech writing and legal fees...

I am ambivalent about Sarah (though I was a huge fan before she didn’t run, and am open to supporting her in the future if her opponents are typical for the establishment), so take this for what it is worth. And it goes for all of the pro-Sarah crew you roll with.
Every so often, a candidate shows up on here. I’ll use Sarah as an example, but it could be Hunter, it could be Romney, it could be McCain, Thompson, any candidate.
People show up spewing a lot of phony crap about them, and it clearly has an agenda. Think Romney attacking Sarah. People rightly call them on the BS, but then these supporters begin to see any attack as the same as the BS. Pretty soon, if anybody utters any criticism about the candidate, groups of supporters show up to browbeat them into silence with personal attacks, attributions of malevolent motives, and ridicule.
This creates a new dynamic, among the masses who observe, but don’t interact. One day, they see somebody post something which is mildly critical, but in a way which could be plausible, only to then be jumped on my a coordinated group, which procedes to name call, ridicule, and insult, until the mild critic gets tired of the fight and leaves. When this happens, it makes the place feel unwelcoming of free discussion.
The supporters, due to their zeal to defend their candidate against every slight, no matter how minor, end up looking as if they are trying to create a zero-tolerance environment, with no debate. That is generally something that people who value freedom will reflexively rebel against.
I have seen myself grow more irritated with candidates, due to the actions of their zealous supporters on here, than I have been irritated with the actual candidate, and I am sure you will have seen this in yourself as well.
Sometimes, the best thing for your caiddate is to let the debate rage, and let each person’s argument rest on the merits of their case, rather than taking things personal, ascribing personal motives to their arguments, or worse, trying to ridicule them or out-group them.
As an example, if somebody insults Sarah’s leadership, post her accomplishments, but don’t then start name calling, or ascribing motives to the opponent. Don’t insist they leave the thread, or say they aren’t Conseratives, or feel you need the last word. Answer fact with fact, and let the readers decide, especially if their last answer doesn’t address your facts.
LA might have been a Sarah voter one day, if she was paired off against bigger establishment politicians. I have voted for both McCain and Romney, though I loathed both But brow-beat LA enough, and he will crawl over broken glass to vote against her for a Romney, just to screw you and your gang. I know, because I supported McCain in 08 at the end of the primary (and I hated McCain), just because it was him vs Romney. I knew little enough about Romney at that point that I might have supported him to screw McCain, had all Romney’s supporters here not been so obnoxious with Thompson and Hunter.
In ‘12, I opposed Romney duringthe primary for a lot of reasons, but the underhanded crap with Sarah, and his supporters here were a large part.
So consider sometimes, you are better off letting a small, generic criticism be, and just ignoring it, or leaving a small unemotional, fact based post that can’t be attacked. A lot of the lurkers on here are introverts, who will tend to have a strong irritation with any coordinated attempt to gang up on someone for what they say, rather than simply showing where they are wrong.
Food for thought.
Soap Opera: ‘Just Plain Bill’ - I remember those words!
And others my mom had on.
Poor Bill - I remember nothing about the storyline - anyone know why he was ‘Plain??!!’
As a fellow n00b, here's a recollection from a long-ago past when I was still in Pennsylvania and working as the new guy at a union shop. I led several of us workers, many of whom lacked the oh-so-important trait of seniority (very important to union goons and, evidently, some FReepers) on a campaign to bust the long-entrenched union through the legal process of decertification.
Over a period of months, just about all of those who voted in favor of unionism during the decertification election were fired. I'll confess to taking real glee when a 25-year vet of the company (he'd been there since the mid-1950s) was dismissed. He was a bad seed from the get-to, a featherbedder who thought tenure and seniority were his protection. When I started the the action to bust the union, this hateful creep uttered these words: "I was here when you got here and I'll be here when you leave". The Na-Na-Hey-Hey-Goodbye song was popular around that time and we who were loyal to the American spirit of free enterprise gave that union goon a serenade as he slinked out the door for good.
In short, lil' ol' me, a mere n00b got the best of a 25-year company vet when he rightfully was terminated when his seniority-lovin', tenure-protectin' union was dismantled. To put it another way by way of allegory...
My BIGGEST fear is that by the time we elect a conservative President, Obama will have destroyed this economy so badly that our military might will have suffered so much that we actually get behind a Ron Paul type (RE: our stance in the world/military). I think that’s where we’re heading and it’s not by accident as far as America-hating Obama is concerned. It’s all part of his plan - to bring us down.
You betcha!
Are you saying that I joined because I want to put Palin down?
I stated that because (well, by you name I assume you are a guy :P) we have more Guys on the list than girls. It's what Sarah does we support.
I'm sorry you got the wrong impression, I should have been more clear.
Gov. Palin praises McCains tenacity on Benghazi
Ok, so you managed to find one article which was posted after the 2010 midterms, where Sarah said a kind word about McCain. I'll grant you one point for that, but your earlier statement that she's always going on about McCain, and constantly praising him, is still an exaggeration.
More than anything, what she's said about McCain is a professional courtesy. Notice that she rarely gives any fellow Republican a public tongue lashing. If they're 'off the reservation', she tends not to mention them at all.
Sarah's got excellent instincts and exudes common sense, but she's also a pragmatist. She knows when she's got to bite her tongue for the greater good of the patriotic right. I have no doubt that it chaps her hide to do so, and that in private, she's got more than a few choice words for the RINOS.
I doubt Sarah Palin will ever speak badly of John McCain. To her it would seem like horrible ingratitude to the man who gave her a national stage.
I just remember those guitar chords that they introduced the show with, used to play them, but have no memory of them now, gave up my guitar aspiration after I heard Chet Atkins play poor people of Paris back in early 50's.
My wife and me were extremely supportive of Palin until she led us to believe she would run in 2012 and didn’t. We still support her message but were deeply hurt by the way she left us hanging.
We will support her again but not like we did before. She needs to explain her intentions more clearly so we understand what she is doing.
I see your point and I hope you’re right. All in all, she’s is one tough woman and is smarter and more efficient (for lack of a better word) at getting the job done, and done right, than anyone I see in DC at this time. I hope something comes of her “shakin’ up the machine”.
That said, I think the GOP is over and a new party should be started. An independent Liberty Constitutional party. If you look at the Republicans, they are Democrat lite, save a few. They’ve become a party of spineless, non-principled, compromising elitists who only care about their political clout.
Sarah would do better to help get a new Tea Party started and become an actual force people can vote for in elections......instead of holding ones nose and voting for the (R) Republican who claims to be a Tea Party person. I’m talking make the “Tea Party” a REAL party, so one can choose between (D), (R), (L), (G) and (T), when they vote. Just sayin’
It takes a degree of force on the tectonic level to give birth to a new (and successful) political party. I think we're close to feeling the poles shift, but we're not quite there yet. If Obama & Co. apply much more pressure than they're doing, we'll definitely see that axis tilt.
That is when you'll see someone like Sarah step up and declare that it's time to gather our forces into a movement that either bypasses the Republican party, or puts it out to pasture permanently.
American media is seriously twisted and distorted, and many MSM consumers are disgusted with the monopoly. A line from HH Guide comes to mind: "They were the first against the wall when the revolution came." The media in the U.S. is truly despicable, aleep at the wheel at best, criminally negligent at worst.
We've reached a situation where we're paying out the nose for gasoline that was half the price what, five years ago? Everything is from China -- that makes a lot of Americans angry. Then there's the spectre of nationalized health care, another thing that makes most -- yes, most -- Americans angry.
Where is the MSM coverage about the damage and harm and destruction that government regulation does to every aspect of a free person's existence? This is the truth: an American teenager is supposed to be free -- but he doesn't have the right to hire himself out to whereever he wants at whatever pay he elects. He is an OUTLAW if he tries to do it, and even worse is the OUTLAW employer who pays him.
Minimum wage laws as they work now essentially poison any foundation for a decent work ethic at the start. Government our Nanny doesn't trust the majority of free people to exercise decency and morality in how they conduct themselves. So government tyranny usurps that decision in the form of wage laws that cripple free enterprise.
On a bigger-picture scale, it is why we have to pay out the nose for gas (and therefore everything else), and why the only things we can find to buy are made in China. Americans are outlaws if they seek to make America produce those things.
There is a government regulation, tax law, labor law, environmental law, discrimination law, health code, and you name whatever else, to strangle and prang from the git-go American productivity. Government tyranny.
Cut that tyranny away and stand back.
There's hope for America. We are still at our foundation a good and productive moral people, for all the outward projection of the MSM, which is well dominated by the left. More insidious is the commercial side, the advertisements and the top-of-the-hour news reports. It's like blind-man's bluff, wondering how many out there in the Great Unwashed fellow-listening or watching, are echoing thoughs like my own. Reading consumer commentary at MSM links is heartening because they usually read as much like FR as they do anything else.
It's a huge hurtle we must overcome and it's reached the point where the Republican party has become an arm of the enemy in that Republicans are every bit as adept and determined as Democrats to create more government tyranny.
"Game over, man! Game over!"
You're one of the Hudson Brigade. Useless and distracting.
Well said.
I have to remind myself that Nixon created the EPA -- that evil monstrosity is the product of a Republican. On the other hand, being asked to vote for, as president, the most successful political instrument yet of implemented state-run health care, among other vast government power-grabs, had not happened to me in the GOP until 2012. It occurs to me that as long as Romney and the positions he represents are "in" with Republicans, then it's the wrong party.
The Republican brand is so willfully bereft, so equally to be criticized as the left for growing government's burden, that the timing may be spot-on for a third party.
A place where people can unite in their rejection of both parties.
We hear there's no difference between the two parties and we hear the Republican party has gone too far to the right--someone is wrong.
I’m sorry, but too many people here are NOT understanding the situation at hand.
There is a reason I can’t bring myself back to happiness these days. I feel the weight of the collapse of the American economy and our cherished Judeo-Christian culture. You bet I’m glum these days, because I see the end-game and it ends with our internal enemies winning the fight because they have a 60-90 year head start on us while we all had our noses to the grindstone trying to earn a living.
You know that the communists have been infiltrating every American institution since the 1930s. The 60s radicals are now in charge. Many 60s radicals spent the last 40 years as college professors who trained a generation of elementary school teachers.
Those elementary and high school teachers are now fully on board with the communist agenda, even though they don’t realize it. They just call it globalism and anti-corporatism, save the planet, recycle, reduce your carbon footprint, disarm the military, promote alternative lifestyles, etc.
We have hit a tipping point where the half who are takers can vote themselves goods and services from the half who are makers. Worse still, Obama is engineering this wealth distribution and has an army of people helping him, many within government and many outside it.
It was never a matter of saving the nation from decline and fall. The nation was going to decline and fall at some point, as all Democratic forms of government do when the takers outweigh the makers and the people become morally bankrupt.
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
“From bondage to spiritual faith;
“From spiritual faith to great courage;
“From courage to liberty;
“From liberty to abundance;
“From abundance to complacency;
“From complacency to apathy;
“From apathy to dependence;
“From dependence back into bondage.
You know the above is true, so the matter was only “when we fall” not “if we fall”.
The communist infiltration is pushing the fall. The UN pushing for one world government is pushing the fall. America NEEDS to be knocked off the world stage in order to insure it does not stymie the creation of the one-world government. George Soros installed Obama to accelerate America’s fall.
I don’t know who installed Clinton, but you can see the huge push in 1992 by the UN to standardize world control under the umbrella of fighting environmental catastrophe. I don’t think it is a coincidence that Clinton was elected the same year that GHW Bush signed the UN Agenda 21, which is the world standard plan for control that is being implemented in every Western nation throughout the world.
I don’t like the fact that the fall is coming any more than you do, but it is coming.
So fight on if it feels good to fight on but the fact of the matter is, we were always fighing a delaying action only, once the 60s radicals were firmly entrenched in the various US institutions, and executing their Cloward-Piven plan to collapse the US economy.
If I sound like a quitter it is only because I can see very clearly that we lost our last chance to delay the coming collapse.
Obama’s election in 2008 was instrumental and passing Obamacare was a huge leap forward for the communists to collapse the US economy. We had 1 and ONLY 1 chance to repeal Obamacare, and that was to insure that Obama was not re-elected.
Well, Obama was re-elected by stealing the election, because many conservatives refusing to vote for Romney provided the cushion the Democrats needed to steal the election. You can only conduct so much voter fraud, even in the “swing states” and there were enough “principled Conservatives” not voting that it allowed the Democrats to steal the election.
Now our fall is certain, and fighting back might be fun and fulfilling, but I assure you it is futile.
That is what is so frustrating. An armed revolution is all we have left, and people don’t risk the death and maiming of their loved ones unless they have both moral courage and NOTHING to lose. I don’t know about you, but I still have a lot to lose by picking up a rifle and living the short and brutal life of an insurgent.
Palin is welcome to fight all she wants. It is a drop in the ocean. Sarah missed her chance to deeply impact the 2012 election by running. We did not even need her to win the election. All she had to to was run, get on the national stage, and speak out against Obama at every turn. Expose him. Expose his agenda and put a little fear into Conservatives so they would turn out in greater numbers for the election.
Instead, she sat on the sidelines and played king maker in a handful of now-meaningless elections. I’m not blaming here, I’m just saying she had one chance to make a serious impact and prevent Obama’s re-election, and now it is too late. The die is cast. Obama has 4 years to finish installing the seeds of our destruction.
The fall is baked into the cake. I’m sorry people don’t want to hear this, but it is the truth. So what to do is to prepare yourself for an economic collapse or for hard times. That is about all you have left.
Sorry for being a downer, but I’m not the one who lost the country. I’m not the one who was asleep at the wheel when the communists infiltrated government, the schools, universities, churches, and unions, creating the welfare society and destroying our morals and cherished institutions.
I’ve said all along that I am the guy in the boat bailing water out while half the people in the boat continue to shoot holes in the bottom. I’m sorry to report that the bottom of the boat looks like Swiss cheese, and they are still shooting.
My advice is to quit bailing and put on a life jacket. Pray to God for his protection and Blessing. Apologize to your children that the country was destroyed on our watch. Then pray again for your Grandchildren, who will bear the brunt of the aftermath of the coming totalitarian tyranny.
Sorry for being a downer. Don’t blame me. I’m just the guy who can clearly see what’s coming. I didn’t cause it and I can’t stop it.
The people who think this is stoppable haven’t been paying attention to what the UN has been doing for 60 years, don’t undestand Agenda 21, don’t know about Cloward-Piven, underestimate the impact of the coming soaring national debt, and don’t realize that the government is going to choke the future economy to death with regulations.
Anybody who opens their eyes to the extend of the communist infiltration, and the impact of one-world government backers, can see that we have been sold out by our masters long ago for 30 pieces of silver. It’s over. Don’t shoot me, I’m just the messenger.
For all your eloquence and excuses, you remain, simply, part of the panic-stricken "Game over, man!" Hudson brigade: in the way, a distraction, a help to the enemy. Go crawl in a hole to get out of the way, or start being useful and stop making excuses for your swirling down a drain of despair and doing your damndest to drag others with you.
You need a good swift kick in the ass, pal.
