This is our country. We live in it, and we have a right to the kind of country we want. We would not allow the French or the United Nations to rule us, and neither should we allow people who died over two centuries ago and knew nothing of our country as it exists today. If we are to take back our own country, we have to start making decisions for ourselves, and stop deferring to an ancient and outdated document.

I believe the Constitution only had two "unamendable" sections, one of which is no longer in effect.
Article V: Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.
The first of these referenced prohibiting the slave trade prior to 1808, when such prohibition was passed, so no longer applies.
The second is still in effect.
Personally I find it difficult to see how an amendment, which can completely change the Constitution itself, can be prohibited from changing this provision. But since nobody is proposing any change to this single provision, it doesn't seem to make a difference, as Hilary might say.

This gave me a stomach ache.
How many times in how many ways does this bunch need to tell us, they are through with the constitution? And why does it not phase anyone in power when the president on down denounce the constitution?
Why does it not rattle in the GOP or anyone at FOX News when the DOD and DHS classifies people who support the constitution as terrorists?
Is it or is it not treason for people in power to undermine and denounce the constitution?

The fascists are out of the closet. If we discard the constitution, fascism is all that’s left. The republic, branches of government, checks and balances, due process, the Bill of Rights, Enumerated Powers and the entire foundation of over two centuries of order are gone. What will fill the vacuum will be either the executive or the military. Either would be a dictatorship.
My only solace in these times is that treasonous idiots are identifying themselves. They will be brought to justice.

Personally, I don't see how we can avoid bad times ahead, but let me remind one and all - our freedom, that which we were born with, is our birthright, unlike so many other nations in history that have fallen by the wayside. We should instinctively know that something is wrong when others try by any means possible to deprive us of that which is ours.

People are buying guns by the millions because they know in their heart of hearts things are going bad, and if we follow this path and leave it unattended it's end will not be a good place at all.

I could ramble on all night here on this subject, but just let me close by saying this country is ours, the protestations of Sam Donaldson and the like notwithstanding, and in the end, subversion will doubtless be met most resolutely.
If the nation falls apart, I think America's enemies overseas will be paralyzed, more than anything, by the cataclysm they'll witness. What will come in it's aftermath? Who knows.

I’m tired of “these people.” That’s the only way I can put it without delving into a string of obscenities that will get me reprimanded here. I’m to the point where sometimnes I think we should just says, “OK, let’s go to the alley/parking lot and rumble.”
