This is our country. We live in it, and we have a right to the kind of country we want. We would not allow the French or the United Nations to rule us, and neither should we allow people who died over two centuries ago and knew nothing of our country as it exists today. If we are to take back our own country, we have to start making decisions for ourselves, and stop deferring to an ancient and outdated document.

The World Elite is real and they are trying to enslave you.
Let’s shut CBS down, and imprison its execs for subversion!
Looks like some business, academic and political leaders are hysterical. It’s interesting that in recent years, they’re spreading so much of their own fear and panic. Our forefathers did the opposite.
We're keeping the Constitution and enforcing it.
Over my dead body - and a big pile of bodies of those who want to do away with it!
Against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC.
They have become reckless.
Treason. Fire the house and barn.
Arguing against a written constitution is the same as advocating either complete anarchy or autocratic rule of one segment of the citizenry over another.
I agree -- this person is publicly advocating the overthrow of our government.
This is a preface to the new step which will be a call for a constitutional convention to “fix” the Constitution. Lord help us if THAT ever happens
Professor Seidman seems to to be confident that the Constitutional re-write would be something he would be happy with, i.e. it would reflect his morals, values, worldview, etc. Realistically, that wouldn’t be the case and passions would flare and we’d more than likely find ourselves in another civil war. Does the good professor realize what he’s proposing? I don’t think so. I’m reminded of the words of a post-apartheid South African government official—”It wasn’t supposed to turn out like this.”
We haven’t (given up) yet? Congress, Executive and some courts have, let’s get with the program the rest of use!
Those that do can do. Those that can’t teach.
If the policy is to make law at the local level instead of the Federal level, citizens then have the right to vote with their feet. (Although the States have been trying very, very hard to bind those feet with what amounts to exit taxation.) The voice of the individual is much louder in town than it is in Washington DC -- the only people who have a voice there are those who have lots and lots and lots of money, to send people to lobby Congress and to buy votes of Congressmen and Presidents. Instead, the liberal push is to pass law at the highest level, to reduce the "cost" of getting what they want.
The most glaring omission from the presentation is the absence of any discussion about how to amend the Constitution. If there are parts of that old document that no longer apply, or are "not as laudable", one can push to amend the Constitution to fix the problem. Witness the process of outlawing slavery in this country -- it took work (and a Civil War) but we finally got the job done. Witness the change in how we fund our government: the Income Tax. Of course, there are people who think that the promises made by the proposers of the 16th Amendment effectively lied, and we as a people got taken to the cleaners because of it. But that's a different discussion.
Throwing out the baby with the bath water is a bad, bad idea. Better to do surgery to those portions of the Constitution that are bad. Do it with surgery, not with a machete. Don't like the 2nd Amendment? Then pass a new amendment, just as we did with Prohibition, another bad idea.
(Speaking of which, doesn't anyone remember the lesson we learned from the Prohibition of Alcohol? Judging from the cries from some people, they don't know history, and so are dooming us to repeat it. If they "win".)
One thing those old dead men did was to think very carefully about how to build a country, how to set up an environment where individuals can shine and succeed, and be rewarded for their smarts and hard work. Regardless of age, sex, race, creed, language, or any other label. And that's just too important to just throw away.

Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list

Didn’t those same, irrelevant dead white men write the equally ancient and outdated Declaration of Independence that you are basing your right to the kind of country you want?
Doesn’t that ancient and outdated document provide a process for changing it, or even replacing it? How outmoded is that?
I thank God that I have only 20+/- years left, depending upon the (unconstitutional) death panel’s future decisions.
Hopefully, that will be much longer than needed to get some useful shots off when these idiots finally succeed in starting CW-II*/Second American Revolution.
*AKA “War Of Liberal Aggression”
The first things to GO would be his freedom of expression, right to defend himself, right to a trial, and right against self incrimination along with his right to face his accusers. What a maroon!
