There was a time when wings were thrown away. The people of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo are due our thanks.

Flipping through the channels, I came across the ESPN scroll and odds were shown for the game called “The Football Championship.” The term “Super Bowl” was absent. I wonder if that is because it was associated with gambling. The NFL licenses the term “Super Bowl,” too.

I’m doing a crawfish boil this year. There’s a bumper crop of mud bugs this year and market price is already down to $2.25 lb for next week.

Shoot, I was able to have a boil for New Years and only paid $2.75lb

I haven’t seen prices his low, this early in the season in years.

I heard a stat that said that 1.23 BILLION chicken wings would be consumed on SB sunday.

That sounds like a staggering amount, but...
if 1/3 of the country were eating wings, that would be 12 each.
if 1/10 of the country were eating wings, though, that would be 40 each.

I wish our local Popeyes had crawfish had`em on

$2.11 a pound is the highest priced pieces and parts of a chicken? Really? How much is breast meat per pound now?

Chicken wings used to be cheap because they don't have much meat on them. They got popular because they were a cheap snack. Now they are the most expensive part of the chicken because they are so popular.

And they still don't have much meat on them.

The north makes it a national past time to ridicule the hick hayseed rednecks in the south that raise chickens, 4 wheel in the mud, etc..... go suck on a fried pigeon wing for a change! That’s about all you can ‘raise’.... /[in jest]

Hooters’ wings suck

I never eat’em either. Wings are the nastiest part of the chicken. It’s where all the blood collects and coagulates after they’re slaughtered.
