This may be the cheesiest story you’ll read all day—literally. That’s because 27 metric tons of flaming goat cheese burned inside a Norwegian road tunnel, closing nearly two miles of the road for six days.

Brunost, a Norwegian cheese considered a delicacy, was being shipped in a truck that caught fire. No one was hurt in the incident, which firefighters were finally able to put out on Monday.

I remember when a distillery in the the north end of Boston, spilled molasses killing 21. Since then legislation was enacted to outlaw possession of molasses. Thank goodness the little children are now safe, since 1919.

Joe, I can’t help but wonder, why is there
a platform and stairs built back there?

In addition to a moose bite, the sister now has a slight burn from melted cheese.

All my goats have been kept toasty warm in this cold snap we have had for the last two days in central Indiana.

Even the birds are sharinging the heat.

Well, I got up late today and the dog decided to feed herself, she dumped over the step on garbage can I keep her food in, don’t know how much she ate, but then decided to poop on the living room floor. Me and my walker had a hard time keeping up with this....the straw that broke the camels back was she ate so much she then threw up undigested dog food twice....that bitch is now laying in the snow outside and I don’t care if she becomes a poopsicle. I’ll get over my snit in an hour and let her back in the house.....for a blind, deaf dog she sure can get into trouble.....glad you babies are nice and warm...GG

They were lying about in the sun this afternoon; so I shut off their heat.

On the left is their sleeping/cud chewing platform. See that gray screen against the corregated metal?

That is firmly installed right where brown Ellie Mae is laying; with the heater behind it for protection.

A 4*8 sheet of plywood is then placed along the outside edge; forming an area about 9 feet long and 4*4 for them to congregate.

The bird area is just beyond Jack to the left. There is 1/4" hardware cloth separating the birds and goats.

The goats have a 2' wide rug flap that makes a bit of a door to hold the heat in.

The birds also have a heat lamp that shines down into their part.

Neither; well... maybe the latter, perhaps.

The heavy shelving they lie on was already in the barn when we bought the property; as well as the heavy gravel sieves.

The bird door is merely half of a lightweight hollow door from the house remodeling progect.

The nesting box was already lying around somewhere out in the barn, but the solar heating windows were NOT installed yet. They are old shower doors from the bathroom redo a couple of years ago.

An early model of their heated area:

I think that's the first time I saw the duck. My daughter had several, a snapping turtle in their pond took one down and she saw a hawk take one....the other 2 wouldn't go near the pond....nobody can tell me animals are dumb, they knew there was something in there....Being white they were easy to spot so she got a couple of mallards, they were mean as crap, chased the cats and the dogs. She finally found them a new pond about a mile from her house. As far as we know they are still fat and happy...The only animals they left alone were the 2 horses and if they wondered into their area, they got chased out by the horses....LOL horse's didn't like ducks...

My goats don’t like cats.

When Tiger was a little kitty; he used to tease the goats thru a small hole in the barn wall; sticking his paw thru ‘til one came to investigate, and then swatting their nose!

Homey didn’t play dat; so one day, when he was sauntering thru the barn like he owned it; Ellie Mae nailed him between a piece of plywood and the barn wall.

As he staggered out from behind the wood, he appeared to have only 8 left.

He faithfully AVOIDS the goats now, and will claw you UP! if you try to get him even NEAR one!

One of our barns had sheet metal roof. We had a bad hail storm one day and I took a run out to the barn, the noise was horrible and the goats that were in that barn were in a panic. Those that made it to the other barn were not bothered at all....the only good thing about hail storms is they don’t last long, but the noise was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself talk....golf ball size hail. Wish I could send some pictures of my goats but don’t know how and didn’t know how to tranfer them to my new computer....bummer
