Thank you Ladies for this evenings thread & thank you for your service, our hero David Kingsley.
Great composition Starlette! *Hugs*
Evening, Kathy. How inspiring.
Karl Elsener, a Swiss designer of surgical equipment in the 19th century, worked for years on perfecting a military knife. Today his Swiss Army Knife is associated with excellence in blades and a variety of utilities. One model includes knife blades, a saw, scissors, a magnifying glass, a can opener, a screwdriver, a ruler, a toothpick, a writing pen, and moreall in one knife! If you are out camping in the wild, this one item can certainly make you feel equipped for survival.
We need something to equip us to survive spiritually in this sinful world. God has given us His Word, a kind of spiritual knife for the soul. Paul writes: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
The word translated equipped means to furnish or fit completely. How does the Bible equip us for lifes journey? It provides spiritual truth in doctrine; reproof in showing our imperfections; correction by revealing our sinful failures; and instruction in living a righteous life. Theres not a more valuable tool than Gods Word to make us fully equipped for spiritual survival and personal growth.

David Kingsley
for his service and sacrifice.
And remembrance of the lost Bulgarian family ~
"While the story of Kingsley's sacrifice was memorialized in America,
it's rarely mentioned that the crash killed
members of a Bulgarian family on the ground".
DC Metroland weather report
~ Today... Some clouds this morning will give way
to generally sunny skies for the afternoon.
High around 45F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
~ Tonight...Mainly clear.
Low 31F. Winds light and variable.
We're in for a warming trend!
I love, love, love winters like this!
Sorry northerners...hehe.
Going to take advantage of it and go for after-lunch walks.
UGH! I'm getting the dreaded time-out.
If this keeps up it'll shorten my FR time!
Right now I'm going to make my rounds
before someone shows up and wants something.
Or before I get tired of the time-outs!
But please stay right where you are.
Chat up the military or a family member.
No need to fret...you know I'll be back!
The FR Canteen is
Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

The David R Kingsley Memorial greets us every morning just beyond the front gate at Kingsley Field. The memorial is made of actual wreckage from his B-17 retrieved from Bulgaria. We also got to tour his former fiancee around the base.
