A massively wealthy arms dealer with close links to Britain is set to provide proof that Nicolas Sarkozy received millions in illegal cash from Colonel Gaddafi.
Ziad Takieddine, 62, insists that the former Libyan dictator funded the former French presidents election campaign in 2007.
.......................
Takieddines explosive testament follows similar claims from other witnesses, all of whom insist that Sarkozy was a corrupt head of state.
French law bans candidates from receiving cash payments above £6,300, but it is claimed that Gaddafis donations were laundered through bank accounts in Panama and Switzerland.
An Arabic language document made public last year refers to Gaddafi approving an 'agreement in principle to support the campaign for the candidate for the presidential elections, Nicolas Sarkozy, for a sum equivalent to 50 million euros (£40 million)'.
A bundle of incriminating evidence was leaked by senior members of the National Transitional Council, the organisation which governed Libya after the Arab Spring revolution.
The money was then allegedly distributed through Takieddine, who was acting as a middle man between Arab despots and French politicians.
Eyebrows were first raised when Gaddafi was honoured with a state visit to Paris in late 2007.
He was referred to as the 'Brother Leader' by the French president, and allowed to pitch his tent next to the Elysee Palace.
..................
As head of state, Sarkozy could not be prosecuted while in office, but within weeks of him losing the election to Francois Hollande in May his Paris home was raided by police.
He and his third wife, Carla Bruni, fled to Canada at the time .....
Sarkozy turned on his friend Gaddafi at the beginning of the Arab Spring, French jets were the first to attack Gaddafi's tanks in a brutal military campaign which ended with the Libyan leader being murdered.

So much for having to pay it back...
Gadfly also helped to supply the IRA.
Unlike Obama, who’s campaign funds only came from loyal American democratic citizens.... /sarc
They’re all whores. Not just our politicians.
Whores are supposed to provide a service in return. Sarkozy got Gaddafi castrated and tortured to death.
So much for 2007. Whose campaign did Khaddafi fund in 2008?
We knew about this years ago and there was limited reporting on these things but no one wanted to hear it.
It is EUROPE that has the economic interests in North Africa and the Middle East MORE SO than us, both in trade, oil and with people from there in Europe and vice versa. Politically the ties run a lot deeper as well because of the colonial era and trade. While the French and Germans were screaming about how Iraq was all about the oil, it was actually firms with names like “Fina” and “Total” that had all the big oil contracts in Iraq. From cars, generators, food products, weapons, refrigerators to light bulbs... this region by proximity and historical connections is closely tied to Europe.
Don’t rob banks! Run for office, that’s where the real money is.
Well, he doesn’t have to worry about paying it back.
Throw him in jail. I’ll look after his wife.
And that’s how you repay a buddy.
Take his money then take his life.
Karma, She’s a bitch...
I heard that Kaddhafi was executed on the hood of a BMW. If it had been a Peugeot, that would have been very French. Nonetheless, a German SUV works for me. Kaddhafi was shot with his very own gold-plated Browning Hi Power 9mm handgun. That pistol may have been manufactured in Belgium.
Here’s a picture of it -

It looks like the killing of Kaddhafi was an international effort - killed on a German car with a Belgium pistol made by an American company. I can’t find any French involvement unless he was wearing a royal horse hair French suit with a tri-corner hat and ostrich feather prior to getting thumped.
