I have confirmed with a group of Congressmen that House Speaker John Boehner will not be reelected Speaker tomorrow.
He will either resign or be forced out tomorrow.
Only 17 members are needed to block Speaker Boehner's election tomorrow. A Speaker needs an absolute majority of all votes cast for a specific person.
If no one has a majority, the House is speakerless. I've confirmed these rules with the House Parliamentarian.

Good, but I worry that McCarthy is going to find a way to get his hat in the ring, and that would be a disaster for Conservatives in the House.

YES, indeedy. Trey is fabulous, articulate and keen minded. I do like him too. But, we will shatter, fragment and balcanize ourselves, as we did in the primaries, letting Cantor squeak through.

Can you explain to me something? Why do Gingrich fans call him by his first name/boyhood name? Adult males are called by the last name. Gingrich is still called by his first name like he’s in pampers or something. He’s almost 70, isn’t it time for him to man up and start acting like an adult?
