I think Republicans lost the election BECAUSE they're not listening to their base...

The Republicans have already lost their “Base”. What they now are trying so hard to lose is all the rest of the voters that might be swayed to vote for them. The Pubbies are a defunct species. Santa Clause has come to town.

Maybe if the GOP kicks us to the curb, they could be doing us a favor? Maybe the time is for the Unthinkable. Third Party.

The GOP lost me. I vote for them because they’re not as bad as the other party. Kind of like choosing the gas chamber or hanging.

Republicans won’t lose their base, though they deserve to, as long as the party elite keeps nominating frauds like Mitt Romney and getting people to ‘vote for the R’.

YAY!!! Now we are finally hearing it. Where the heck were they BEFORE this election? Why didn’t we hear this when we were being sold down the river by the rino elite?

I've hung out with republicans as long as I could stand. They're useless dumbasses! I can tell everyone this, the stupid party is no longer a home for conservatives.

The GOP/RNC can go pound sand!

It’s already happened as proven by the last election. The GOP conservative base is gone, and the fools are doing everything possible to get rid of those still clinging to them.

Actually, the beltway GOP folks are probably intentionally keeping distance from conservatives and like values in order to keep the left wing media off their backs.

The time for a third party has never been better.

3rd party gets us nothing but further marginalization. If drastic action is needed, which it is, secession is the only logical option. I support it.

Reagan didn't leave the democrat party. The democrat party left him.

Conservatives didn't leave the Republican party. The Republican party left them.

NEVER MIND WHAT THE SENATORS HAVE TO SAY!

I appreciate John Fund’s articles, he’s the best reporter by far. But the House is where the action is and I wish he, of all people, realized it and would give us more insight!

And to Republican politicians: “real spending cuts for real debt, real spending cuts for real taxes.”
It’s just not that hard.

We also need to make it clear to those who call themselves conservatives that contributing cover and support to the GOP BY THE RANK AND FILE is also very much the problem. And we need a clean break from those types as well.

You have all seen them. Those who call liberal ideas and candidates ‘conservative’. Plenty infest every remotely conservative site on the web, including this one.

We can be serious about who and what we are and believe, or we can keep playing this pathetic game.

I have made my choice. Time for many here to man up and make theirs.

We either believe in principle or we do not. And those who do not cannot by definition be ‘conservative.

Funny...the RNC called here the other evening looking for a handout.

Told them if they had not realized it yet, they soon will. The RNC is over, so yesterday, and will do battle against a third party very soon.

The moderates of the GOP-e continue to marginalize the conservatives because they have in their armor, one thing. They say where else will those suckers go. The party likes no friction. Conservatives fight..I think they wanted to win this election more than we know. It would have given them a new image of the Republican party that many up there so desire. I recall not only HW Bush taking aim at Sarah Palin but Barbara Bush as well. She and George were in the WH, with the moral majority's help. Palin stands for every good decent value to millions of people. Those people are uppity and they are fearful of a person of conviction. Yes, they are losing the base. Can they get back the ones who left? Time will tell.Imo.

The “Big Tent” is a mirage that has lead the GOP-E into the desert. These Haww-vard educated idiots thought that they could out-lib the Demonrats and all that effort accomplished was to drive the Democrat Party into the swamp of communism. It the RHINOs succeed in raising taxes they will lose their base and possibly doom the Republican Party to extinction.

The Republican Party Beltway elites really do want to lose the base so they can be the Donkey’s buddies at the back if the bus. These RINOs really don’t want to lead; all they want is to be loved by the media, go to parties, go to golf outings, and enjoy the perks of a “kept” opposition party. The RINOs do NOT want to win anything.
