A British engineer who moved to South Africa after "falling in love with the country" has been brutally murdered on his remote farmstead.

Mr Preece's daughter-in-law has told how a gang of three robbers poisoned the couple's large pack of guard dogs before breaking into the house.

Since the country's first fully democratic elections in 1994, more than 3,000 white, mainly Afrikaans, farmers have been killed in their homes.

The so-called "farm attacks" are part of the wave of criminality that has engulfed the country in recent years, something criminologists blame of a number of factors...

It is obvious that there is a lot of Black Racism against Whites in South Africa...the media needs to admit it and report it. They sure would not hesitate calling it “racism” if it were Whites killing Blacks

The Leftist media is caught in a dilemma with respect to South Africa. For decades, they were preaching that racism must be defined as "Prejudice + Power". In other words, only those with power can be designated as racists, so blacks can't be racist because they have no power (never mind that a black mugger with a gun to your head has all the power in the world with respect to you).

This creates an issue when a country where blacks are in complete control of the power structure oppresses whites. By the Left's own preferred definition, these people are behaving in a racist manner towards whites. Therefore they pretend it doesn't exist.

Why would any white person in their right mind move to a predominantly black area? Recent history has shown the idiocy of that.

You never read about white mobs attacking black people (and trust me if it happened the media would be trumpeting it), yet we here of black mobs attacking whites all the time.

I’ve come to feel for most blacks* the same as I feel for most democrats. They choose to be that way, they can do without any help they’d get from me. Let them all starve for all I care.

(* please note that I do know that it is a cultural thing. Black kids raised in middle class white neighborhoods usually end up being just like us. Normal, good people. But blacks raised in the ghetto or in majority black neighborhoods almost always end up being thugs. The black culture is a mental illness passed from parent to child.)

Actually it is the other way. If whites representing 20 percent of the population at best did not colonize the country and treat the remaining 80 percent as second class citizens problems like this will not happen. Do the whites expect all the blacks in South Africa to just forget? This is why our founding fathers were wise about foreign entanglement. Colonizing other nations and treating its inhabitants as second citizens will have blowback.

Or, if you are going to take over a territory, as the British colonists did to America, be sure to not leave alive too many of the original inhabitants.

It's not a "legacy of colonialism", or a "legacy of slavery". Black immigrants to the UK (where THEY are the "colonizers") have high crime rates there.

It will get sorted out eventually. Chinese firms are having an increasing presence in Africa. They need African minerals. They do not, however, need the Africans, and can be relied upon to protect their own people and investments, with little regard for world opinion.

That is an ignorant statement. The Brits annexed the Dutch and most of South Africa and made it a colony of the Empire. Africans were not treated as equals under British rule and later South African rule. 20 percent tried to rule the remaining 80 percent. There are consequences for such an approach to governing.

Not at all. You fail to understand my argument and 'conveniently' choose your point of reference to be the time when the white South Africans had already become a minority. They were foolish to let that come about.

If anything, it should be a warning to the US South-West. When the Mexicans will be at 50+ % there in a few years, the same thing will happen to the 'Anglos' that is happening to the Afrikaaners in S.A. today. And the same 'justification' that you proffer here today will be used then...

Had a friend who visited South Africa and when he got back he raved and raved for days about how much he loved it and wanted to move there because "his dollar would go so much farther."

And this racism is also there, or was also there in Zimbabwe. I knew one Zimbabwean in England who utterly loved his land. He was african full-stop and felt that way even though he was as white as anything.

The way they treated white farmers was shameful, especially considering that in Zimbabwe they did not have apartheid and the communities lived in pretty much harmony.
