White House says did not heavily edit talking points on Benghazi

(Reuters) - The White House did not heavily alter talking points about the attacks on a U.S. diplomatic mission in Libya, an official said on Saturday.
"If there were adjustments made to them within the intelligence community, that's common, and that's something they would have done themselves," Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser, told reporters. "The only edit ... made by the White House was the factual edit as to how to refer to the facility."
After a closed-door hearing with former CIA Director David Petraeus on Friday, Republican Representative Peter King said that unclassified talking points prepared by the CIA for use by lawmakers about the September 11 attack where the U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed originally pointed specifically to al Qaeda involvement.

See, it was just a minor edit.
Why is this boiling down to side show of talking points?
Was there a distress call?
Who decided not to respond to it?
Was there a “stand down” order?
Who issued it?
Role of White House?

Do you know then Ben, “if” adjustments were made, what they were, and by who?
Because it’s been decided that our communications systems with our embassies and other facilities and their links to places like the WH Situation Room are “highly classified.”
We’re never going to get the truth unless somebody on the ground in Benghazi blows it all up by talking publicly. And so far, that hasn’t happened.

I agree. To even publicly discuss such a thing as “talking points” in reference to these deaths is offensive.
They can edit lightly, take out two words and change the whole meaning.

But we have a missing character here...which no one is mentioning(that I know of)....Hillary.
I'd say Obama and she now have a deal....she'll shut up until she leaves...and then no promises. Bet she's all lawyered up royally.

I disagree - the fact that there was a cover story and talking points is minor.
The real story is that Obama failed to properly protect the Americans in Benghazi.
US forces were ready, willing, and able to go to the rescue. Obama did not send them.
*That* is the biggest scandal of this event. (We may later find that Obama was running an illegal arms smuggling operation to Al Qaeda affiliates. If that were found to be true it rivals the fact that we know now. - Obama left 41 Americans to die in an attack by al qaeda. if not for the former SEALs at the annex, they would have all died. Those SEALs were even at one point (at least) ordered *NOT* to help.
What we know now is HUGE.

O can skate on talking points controversy.
He can say well W “lied us into war” by exaggerating the intel on threat of potential terrorism and WMD and MY administration will honor its Nobel Peace Prize and err on the side of peace; not war.
I (O) also will not send my minority surrogate (Susan Rice) to lie to the UN like W’s house minority (Powell) did.
We (O) may lie to the American people, but we never even fib to the UN.
