Palestinian militants barraged Israel with more than 200 rockets on Thursday, killing three people as Israel pressed a punishing campaign of airstrikes on militant targets across the Gaza Strip.
Late in the day, Israel signaled a ground operation may be imminent as forces moved toward the border area with Gaza. At least 12 trucks were seen transporting tanks and armored personnel carriers, and a number of buses carrying soldiers arrived. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said he had authorized the army to call-up additional reservists for possible action. The army said it was prepared to draft up to 30,000 additional troops.
"I ordered the military today to widen the draft of reserve soldiers in order to be able to be ready for any development," Barak said. Military officials said the moves were to prepare for the possibility of a ground invasion, but stressed no decision had been made. Israel TV stations, however, said a ground offensive was expected Friday.

Somebody’s about to get driven into the sea here, and it ain’t the Jews.
Wow. So, they are actually mentioning that the Pallies are firing rockets now? About time.
Israel should grow even bigger after this.
In 20 years they should be begging them to ‘go back to the 2012 borders’
rolling barrage
I am all in favor of Israel reclaiming every square foot of land that the Lord originally gave them in the OT.
Obama got “re-elected” and his Palestinian terrorist friends waste no time attacking.
As a XPian that supports the sovereignty of all nations regardless of “national religious preferences”, I say...
Give ‘em hell Bibi! Maybe soon the cultural vernacular will show that “gaza” and “glass” are interchangeable.
(”The kids were playing baseball and broke my pane-gaza window.”)
Taking back Gaza to full Israeli control? I hope so!
If Morsi intervenes he’s signing the death warrant for the Egyptian military. The Israelis do have trouble dealing with insurgents and baby killers but when it comes to destroying the military of an opponent they will do so ruthlessly and utterly. No nation is in the position to aid Morsi. Syria is in chaos, Jordan will not move, Iran is much too far away. A great many Egyptian soldiers are going to die unledd the generals in Egypt get Morsi’s full attention.
What a coincidence!
And the economy is in the tank. He wrecks everything he touches.
It’s really pronounced Ahhhhhza (try thinking of the sound you make when you gargle in order to pronounce the ahhhh), not Gaza.
About the same as the middle part of Lachiam; La-kkhhhhi’em?
Mazeltov, dude.
“About the same as the middle part of Lachiam; La-kkhhhhiem?”
No, that’s easier to pronounce. :)
The ahh in Aza goes all the way down in the throat and even many Israelis don’t bother with it. They just say ah-za. But it is spelled with a G in English to simulate that deep throaty sound.
