And please urge your friends to do the same. We have to send a message and winning the popular vote by as much as possible is a big part of it.

Tennessee has a lot of Conservative Democrats that have been voting GOP for many, many years. The Democrat party does not reflect their values so they cross over on election day in the General election. Now, sometimes they do vote Democrat in the local elections because the Democrat local politicians are rather conservative.

“I doubt we have ANY FReepers that aren’t voting.”

I beg to differ, but there have been numerous “I’m not voting for Romney because he’s not a “staunch” conservative..blah blah..” types prancing around here in all their regal royal splendor for quite some time.

Useless as teats on a boar...

Where are they today?

They deserve to be chided, not lauded.

I’m in Upstate NY. Voted a straight Republic ticket. It’s not ALL about the Presidency.

I live here also. The only difference in my vote is that virtually all Republican candidates are also backed by the Conservative party so I vote that line just to make sure they know where a large part of their support comes from.

`Preaching to the choir’ thread.

Here’s a line I like to use with aggressive Dem tools outside the polls:
“Yeah, we already know who we’re voting for but in close cases (e.g. Joe Blow (D) for county surveyor) we’re voting against the candidates who harass us as we try to vote, and your guy is Blow? OK that’s great, thanks—have a nice day!”
Dice enter polling place.

May the heros of Benghazi be proud of how we vote today.

They gave their lives for us, now we need to give our votes for them.

Vote as if the lives of our Military Men and Women depended on it.

[Pass it on.]

I’m from western New York State and I voted at 6:55am, while on my way to work. There was a lot of people at the polling place. My younger son who’s going to college in Indiana sent in his absentee ballot a few weeks ago. My wife, daughter and older son will be voting after work today. I’m pretty sure they’re all voting for Romney/Ryan, as I did.ocus/f-news/2955508/posts

I live in a 2200 person small town in deep blue Connecticut. I showed up to vote at about 8:30 and for the first time ever I had to look for a parking space and wait in line to vote. I have had a feeling for a long time that Connecticut could be a surprise electorally; the massive turnout could be a clue.

My wife and I just returned from voting, we have voted here for the 18 years of our marriage and I for forty years at the same volunteer fire station. In the past we have often parked right in front of the door and on a busy day just a few feet away. Today we had to walk 150 ft. from where we parked, there were cars parked all along the shoulders of the road on both sides as well as filling all the regular parking spaces. We were outside in line for ten minutes or more before we got inside the building. This is a very small precinct in a rural area. The poll manager is a prominent land owner whose family has been on the same property since before the revolutionary war. He has been poll manager the whole forty years I have voted here and he said that he has NEVER seen it so busy! I don’t think this is happening because of enthusiasm for Obama.

We are voting. We just aren't voting for Romney.

Then you ARE voting for Obama. Write-ins mean nothing.

In Washington, a very blue state. But live in a very red area on the eastern side. All ballots here are mail-in.

Hubby and I voted straight Republican ticket. Senate will probably be Dem (Cantwell). Gov race looks to be a toss up.

Also voted NO on “gay marriage”, but I suspect it will pass. I’m sorry, but I don’t give a crap what the law says, a true real marriage is between one man and one woman.

Three more HISPANIC votes and one (me) ASIAN vote all for Romney here in a heavy red portion of Maricopa County in Arizona (Phoenix suburb). My husband and I and our 23 and 24 year old sons - Republicans all. The 17-year old wanted so much to vote (Republican)but one more year for him. Emphasizing our ethnicity only because democrats just see us as those ethnicities and how they can use it, and assume things about us. And they would be dead wrong.
There was a steady stream of voters, but not more than 10 in line at one time.

Oooh. An original argument. No, a write-in is a vote for the candidate written in. If it means nothing, then every vote for McCain in 2008 meant nothing, and every vote today for anyone except for the winner means nothing.

You really aren't interested in being persuasive, are you?

EVERYONE NEEDS TO VOTE regardless of the state politics where they live...

VOTE LIKE YOUR COUNTRY DEPENDS ON IT~it does!!!

There are actually some FReepers who have stated that they are not going to vote?! Unbelievable! Hope and pray they feel moved to get their duffs off the couch and exercise the privilege so many have fought for***!

***Need to make up for those oversees ballots that are not going to get their overseas ballots counted.
