Is THIS why Chris Christie was so loving toward Obama?
UK Daily Mail ^ | 11/3/12 | Hayley Peterson

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was Mitt Romney’s first choice as a running mate before Romney had a sudden change of heart and dumped him for Paul Ryan.

Christie was miffed by Romney’s decision, particularly because he was led to believe in the weeks leading up to Ryan’s introduction that he would be joining Romney on the Republican presidential ticket, Politico reported, citing conversations with ‘campaign insiders.’

If Christie’s response to Mitt not choosing him is to endorse Obama, then Romney made the right choice.

Even if not true, what a pathetic, petty, self-important worm of a man.

I’ve never been a fan of Christie.

He’s the governor of a heavily blue state that just had a disaster and he wants to have a career after this is all done. That means suck up to the pres, and get the FEMA rolling into his state. Politicians are not innately loyal creatures, in the end they’re all worries more about their own jobs than each others’.

Such a non-story. Why do people keep linking it?

The media put it out because they want to elevate Christie (temporarily) and push the Christie-Obama lovefest at Mitt’s expense.

Ryan was Romney’s first choice. Period. End of story. Who did Romney pick? Ryan.

The only way Christie was Romney’s first choice—as the article claims—is if Romney asked and Christie turned him down. That’s not what happened.

I go into the auto dealer and see a car on the lot and look at it first, thinking about buying it. Then I seen another car and weigh them back and forth. After considering a while, I pick the second car. How does anyone conclude the other car was my first choice? Did I make an offer on the first car? No.

Ryan was Romney’s choice, not Christie. This is pretend news.

You’re right; this is foolish divisiveness fostered by the Dem media. Christie quantified his nonpartisanship by saying he couldn’t care less about the election FOR NOW. He has been a very vocal critic of Obama up until the storm hit (months after allegedly having his heart broken by Romney), and has forced Obama to fight in areas that should have been a lock for a Dem candidate.

I don’t know if this is the reason, per se.

But I do know one thing, learned over years and years of observation. You can NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trust a RINO. They will always stab you in the back, especially at the most important, integral moments. Like sleeper-cells, lying in wait.

Christie confirmed why he wasn’t Romney’s final choice, why take someone who gets ugly when he doesn’t get his way? Probably saw a hint of immaturity in the vetting process, which brought him to turn Christie down. Put in mind that this is likely for a guy who vets upper level execs in his own business as top manager for over two decades.

I find it hard to believe that Chris Christie was ever on Mitt Romney's list of prospective running mates. Several things weighed heavily against him (no pun intended):

1. He's a fat slob with a New Jersey attitude (I'm fine with both of these, by the way), and his "shtick" would not have played well in any swing states.

2. He didn't stand a good chance of bringing his own state into the Republican column in 2012.

3. His career in elected politics has been less than three years in the governor's office in one of the most reliably dysfunctional states in the U.S.

4. His prior career as a Federal prosecutor might have played well in a campaign year where "law and order" were major campaign themes, but not in a year like this where the economy is front-and-center on the national scene.

5. New Jersey's unemployment rate is nearly 10% -- which is more than two points above the national average. Christie still has plenty of work to do in New Jersey.

Personally, I don't think Christie's plans have changed at all. He's going to run for re-election in 2013, and if he loses (or even if he wins), he's going to be angling to serve as the U.S. Attorney General in a second Romney term. He may even be a potential candidate for this post in January 2013.

Putting himself above the good of his country. How self-indulgent can you get?
********
Consider his self-serving speech at the convention. Christie has an ‘oversized’ sense of himself.

Realistically, Baraq of Benghazi could easily be reelected, we're at that much of a tipping point. With so much of the state of NJ in tatters, Christie has to make nice to the guy who'll be dispensing the disaster aid. I don't like it, but that's the sad reality.

With that being said, it underscores the importance of we conservatives not losing sight of the big picture. Mitt isn't our perfect candidate, and nobody likes voting in the lesser of 2 evils, but this isn't the election to "teach the GOP a lesson" and stay home. Job #1 is to unseat this usurper , and equally as important , to get rid of Ried as Senate majority leader. In my state (CT) we have a very liberal Republican running against a man Christie called "Nanci Pelosi's butler". I'm not a Linda McMahon fan and I voted against her in the primary, but the alternative is unacceptable.

, Christie has to make nice to the guy who'll be dispensing the disaster aid.

He could have done that without giving Obama the hot passionate kisses that he gave him.

Glad Ryan was the first choice.

Did Christie feel jilted? I have no idea.

All I know is the guy was over-the-top making an ass of himself, backslapping and praising Obamessiah, when obviously the government response has been disastrous.

Christie did a whale of a job with that. (Pun intended).

Glad to see Christie’s star plummeting to earth.

My exact thoughts...
The first thing I thought when he kissed up to 0 he is getting revenge on Romney for not getting a job he wanted in his administration.

It’s a Jersey thing.
