I think I’m reading that properly.
Potentially amplified as the waves come onshore...
Prayers for those folks!
I was repeating things stated on Hawaii News Now.
I’m in Southern California.
I don’t remember where those boats were. Kind of tired...
Shower Time!

Thanks for the quake chart - I was wondering what caused this. Dang that’s a long path.
Well, unless it was an exaggeration or a rumor reported as fact, I get a sort of sinking feeling that this is for real, no dodged bullets.
04/19/10 - Israel celebrates its Independence Day.
04/19/10 - Fox News reports that Obama will no longer automatically support Israel in the United Nations.
04/20/10 - Deepwater Horizon oil rig explodes. Coincidence or the hand and judgment of God?

Looks like the wave height differential was about 64meters over a 4 minute time span about an hour ago and on a n hourly basis decreasing in time. A 33 m rise, then normal 1 minute later, for 2 minutes, then a 21 meter low the following minute, then next minute a return to normal.
LOL
Three waves have come in now at about 20 minute intervals.
The size has been 1 to 1.5 feet.
One report stated one area saw 2.5 feet.
Sounds like this is going to be a false alert, but that’s good. It could still get worse later, but I’m thinking this may be a lucky break. Lets hope...
ocean pulled back approx 2 ft. n Hilo and Maai
3 swells noticed so far
Yeah... I don’t want anyone hurt either.
No damage so far? Nothing dramatic?
You’re doing a SWELL JOB of reporting, ya know? ;)
That was a while back though, and I believe we should have seen the big wave come in by now.
Reports get a bit chaotic in these situations.
Some places are now on their fourth wave. The surge has been small.
” it’s beginning to look like the evacuation may not have been necessary”
Tsunami center spokesperson now says he’s fairly sure there will be no large destructive wave.
BTW, Mr. Reporter...are there still people standing around on the beach watching??
That’s good!
From about an hour ago, minute by minute buoy elevation readings. Buoy off Hilo, last column is in meters.
The waves may be slow enough that Waikiki doesn’t see it, but out at sea or maybe some single mid Pacific islands need to evacuate about to 40m above sea level.
