Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.
So who in the government did tell anybody not to help those in need? Someone decided not to send in military assets to help those Agency operators. Would the secretary of defense make such a decision on his own? No.
It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and whyand based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversationsdid President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

Not quite what O6ret called for in the below thread but it’s a step in the right direction.

We need Buckhead or a Buckhead post!
Ann, if Petreas didn’t get the call, then he didn’t get the call.
Check out this thread concerning a call in to the Rush Limbaugh show. Perhaps you’ve seen it. If it’s true Petreas is merely explaining who made the command decision.
That doesn’t seem to be out of line to me.

Go/no go maybe. But he said it was the video. And he knew men were in a desperate fight for their lives and “assented” to simply let them die.
Petraeus could have walked out the next day and told the world what happened. He is more loyal to secrecy and the administration, than he is to the constitution and the people of this republic.
WTF????
ONLY NOW they put out a limp statement like this?
WHY wait till WH telling us BOGUS STORY version #452?
It would have been completely pointless to engage in a debate with Barack Obama over this issue when all of this additional damning information is now coming out about it.
Art imitating life, or history repeating itself?
If you’ve seen “Argo”, this sounds remarkably like the White House reaction to the final escape plan for the 6 Americans holed up at the Canadian Embassy.
If you HAVEN’T seen “Argo”, please do so before voting, as a reminder of what happened to us the last time we had such an ineffective man inhabiting the Oval Office! Admittedly somewhat overdramatized, and we all know where Ben Affleck’s politics lie, but he didn’t muck with the basics of the story, thank goodness!
The Marxist needed his sleep for the fund raiser the next day.
Throw him out!
OBAMABOTS.... GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY LIKE OBAMA did yesterday as we need to get as many votes as we can. When the crap hits the fan nobody will vote for me....Cries Obama.
In other words, a polical hack, like Colin Powell.
If the “video” lie cover story would have worked, Petraeus would have never said a word.
Yep.

Paging Buckhead!
So, Betrayus sat there and let his own people get murdered? I don’t think so. He’s guilty and everyone up the line is guilty. The GOP is guilty because they handed the presidency to a lying islamic four years ago. The SCOTUS is guilty because, as Thomas admits, they are “evading” the issue. All of D.C. is quilty of murder.
Because the CIA is being blamed for not giving the okay to send in support. The CIA is merely directing people to the guy who was making the decisions.
People who are and have stepped forward are at risk of their lives.
The whole dem leadership is currupt and some are flatout souless. Probably most of them deserve nothing less than a public hanging?
“Or maybe he was waiting for an opportunity which has suddenly presented itself.”
Bullcrap. He was party to those men being abandoned. He had an opportunity right then and the next day. That pussy would have never said a word if the “video riot” cover story would have flown.
It looks like even once-conservative leaders like Petraeus are going to be required collateral damage in this unnecessary, treasonous disaster.
So be it if the life of our Country requires it.
