CNN executives justified giving Obama more time because he speaks slower and claimed they were doing a word count to justify it. They have been silent as far as I can tell. If Obama had said significantly fewer words they'd probably let us know. If he spoke significantly more words you know they'd never say anything. If it were only a few words different they'd keep quiet and hope it dies. Has anyone run the debate through a word processor like MS Word to get the count? I'm stuck with a stupid tablet rightnow so I cannot.
Neither do I, but I do like rubbing it in their faces. A timed debate is just that.
I know I was on my high school debate team many, many years ago and was a member of Toastmasters for years. I just want to deflate their excuse for incompetence.
Yep, I’m on board with that.
Affirmative action takes into account mental agility.
If you add the words of Crowley and Obama, it’s obvious that the libs not only had more time in the debate but also many more words. If anything, that’s reverse discrimination.
CNN’s excuse for allotting more time to Obama is ridiculous since it could allow a candidate to use this sort of thing to totally dominate a debate and prevent the opponent from having time to respond in full.
Why is it Romney’s problem and why is Romney put at a disadvantage because of Obama’s method of speaking? It’s just more liberal BS excuse making.
Time is time and if the rule is 2 minutes to respond then the time ought to be strictly adheared to on behalf of both candidates. Perhaps a timer linked to each microphone which suts off the power would be the fairest of all.

I was in Toastmasters for a time too. I recall the “table topics”, where you had a couple of minutes to prepare a two minute talk on a topic you drew from a hat. That’s just like the time limit in these debates. The time limit forces you to chose the most important points, and put them in the best order — bearing in mind that just talking real fast isn’t usually a good way to influence people.
Obama’s speaking style put him in the White House (setting aside corruption, the MSM, etc. etc.) He certainly shouldn’t be given additional advantages because of it.
Do you have the debate transcript?
The candidates were supposed to have been allotted equal time, not an equal number of words they were allowed to speak.
To say word count and not minutes is the important measure is sort of like saying after the Olympics is over that the number of strides in the marathon was more important than the time needed to run the race and that, furthermore, only they, CNN, needed to be aware of that fact during the race... WHAT?
Each candidate knew he was supposed to get the same amount of time as the other guy and knew he could do whatever he wanted with his time: He could speak fast. He could speak slowly. He could speak loudly, or he could speak softly. He could tell jokes or he could stay on point, his choice. There are a lot of good reasons to speak slowly, for instance; the greatest orator isn't always a fast talker.
For CNN to come along now and say Obama was given more time because he spoke more ploddingly, or because he didn't raise his voice as much, or didn't stay on point as long as Romney is absurd. Someone at CNN deserves a monstrous hard kick in the gonads.
8,154 Words for Team Romney
9,435 Words for Team Obama/Crowley
Where is the full version of the post-debate poll?
The one of the 1st debate is in the link in the 2nd para here:

I defy you to find the similar one of Tuesday’s debate.
Somebody help me out.
Is this the world’s first Affirmative Action debate?
Well bless his heart.
"Well, uhh... you know, Bones.. life is.... uhhh... like aaaa...box of choc-lates. Set...phasers...to stun!"
And lest we forget; Obama makes the words "and" and "that" into 6 syllable words the way he draws them out between "uhs" and "ahs."
These MSM pricks have such double standards.
They do!!
Obamas speaking style put him in the White House
His reading style greatly assists him. When he actually has to speak,
extemporaneously he reveals what a buffon he is.
I stand corrected.
