Mitt Romney's national lead over President Obama grew even more Thursday, with the latest Gallup survey showing the Republican nominee up 7 points -- as polling in the battlegrounds indicates the electoral map may be shifting in Romney's favor.
In a significant development, the RealClearPolitics electoral map, which offers predictions of which states favor which candidates, for the first time is showing Romney ahead in terms of electoral votes he is likely to win on Nov. 6.
Obama had a big advantage over Romney for months in those projections. But in the past few weeks, states thought to favor Obama like New Hampshire and Pennsylvania were moved into the "toss-up" column. Meanwhile, RCP just moved North Carolina from "toss up" to "leans Romney." The projections -- while subject to change any time of any day -- show Romney with a likely 206 electoral votes and Obama with 201. That leaves another 131 electoral votes up for grabs in the battlegrounds.

I don’t we are overconfident. We are simply being optimistic. We should be cautious, especially if we do win. Liberals don’t accept defeat quietly. They will sue, riot, and/or call for revolution (remember the calls for secession in 2004).
Umm. More likely it’s the biased reporting of the electoral college map that’s shifting. It’s not news that the numbers add up for Romney. The pukes just can’t lie about it any more as the reckoning approaches.
“The projections — while subject to change any time of any day”
True...but would they say that if Obama was ahead. They are trying so hard to give their base something to hold on to, it gets pathetic.
Well - we're celebrating - BUT, we have A LOT OF WORK TO DO in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.
We have to win at least two of these states, maybe three, depending on Colorado.
I will be happy to buy Chrissy a gun and a bullet so he won’t have to suffer. Does that make me a compassionate Conservative?
Pray for America
Do you not find your post just a bit ironic, Utmost Certainty?
agreed! We must keep an eye on Ohio. Ohio must go for Romney! These nationwide polls mean nothing if Romney doesn’t pick up the buckeye state. Call your relatives and friends in Ohio and Get Romney elected!
And how! Lying Libs just can't be anything but despicable!
No one will admit it, but 2008 was our Affirmative Action vote. We (referring to the country as a whole) admitted we were racist hicks and made up for it by voting in an AA president.
So we did our job. But he let us down (just like every AA vote at the city level), so now it’s time to put an adult back in power.
“Romney opens up 7-point lead over Obama, as electoral map begins to shift”
They’re at the top of the stretch! Romney-Ryan surges to the lead, opening up 7!
We've got a grip on it now - if we'll just double down on our own efforts, we just might see a voter-fraud-proof wipe out of this lousy president.
Maybe some caring person will leave a loaded pistol in the MSNBC studio -- just in case all of those geniuses their need some encouragement and help.
But the media said Obama won the debat! lol . where’s Obama
s debate bump. Media caught spreading more lies.
Please don’t get too cocky....WAIT for the next Rasmussen poll numbers to come out! IF Rasm puts Romney over 50% GAME OVER! So let’s just settle down and be patient and wait on Rasmussen! And pray, keep praying and fasting...PLEASE DON’T LET YOUR GUARD DOWN. Gallup can easily be a FOOLS NUMBERS!
I hope we can send him back to a permanent choom gang reunion...they can use his winnings from the Nobel Peace Prize to by weed.
“The margin of error on the Gallup poll is 2%.”
You’re right, it is 2%. But Beckel for whatever reason believed that it was 4% — wishful thinking I guess.
I'm a bit more paranoid.
I hope the military will protect the nation and the Constitution, if needed.
