“We removed the information from the website because we do not wish to participate in a theological debate about something that has become politicized during this campaign.”

Makes good sense

Well, the truth is still the truth, Billy. Politicized or not. This is exactly why we suffer so much, because we never show up to the societal debates in the first place. If nobody is out there representing us how do we expect our beliefs to be represented accurately, if at all?

When I was a kid I would ask my parents, "Why didn't the Indians all just team up together to beat the settlers instead of warring with each other at the same time"

I have the same question, now, as an adult, about religious folks. Let's just defeat the communists first. We can kill each other later.

These; Are no more weird than the Roman Catholic Church.. visit latin America sometime and you will see..

BUT they all are more logical than the democrat party..
Democracy was, is and always will be Mob Rule by mobsters..
No Democracy has ever yet been democratic or ever will be..
Democracy is a lie.. a scam.. the diseased source of socialism...

Democracy is the road to socialism. -Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. -V.I. Lenin

Allow me to say this quite succinctly:

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has elected to become a "truth-hedger"
-- compromising Biblical and social reality
-- in favor of wielding the sanctioning of ALL of the cults (not just Mormonism)...
...all for the sake of political expediency.

Pathetic. Collaborating with the enemies of Christian faith, no matter how well intended, can lead to no good.

They shouldn’t have done that. This was an Evangelical website and fully entitled to make its judgments on other groups that are, essentially, after the same pool of people.

The website did not urge that Mormons be hunted down and killed, but simply advised that they do not have what could be referred to as a biblical faith, since essentially they do not believe in the Trinity and do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. I know a lot of Mormons would like to skip over that inconvenient fact and somehow be considered Evangelicals, but they’re not. If they want their “presiding bishop” to have a vision where he decides they are to accept the Trinitarian, biblical faith, that’s fine, and they can then be considered regular Christians. But until that time, they’re not.

I think it’s unfortunate that politics got into this. I’m not happy about voting for a Mormon, but I will do so because there’s really no alternative. Besides, we already have a non-Christian in the White House, and at least Romney doesn’t have any allegiance to a religion that is entirely foreign and hostile to Christian values. Mormonism has problems of its own that its members will have to deal with, but even if Romney gets elected, these problems are not going to affect the rest of us.

That meeting must have gone pretty well.

I suspect the Hobbitses of the Shire will also align themselves against Mordor.

"We removed the information from the website because we do not wish to participate in a theological debate about something that has become politicized during this campaign."

Some thinks this makes good sense.

I wonder...

The Book seems to indicate something else.

Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

2 Thessalonians 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

1 Timothy 1:3-4
3. As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
4. nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

1 Timothy 1:7
They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

1 Timothy 4:1-2
1. The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
3. If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,
4. he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions
5. and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

2 Timothy 2:15-17
15. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
16. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
17. Their teaching will spread like gangrene.

2 Timothy 4:3-4
3. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
4. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Titus 1:11
They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

“We removed the information from the website because we do not wish to participate in a theological debate about something that has become politicized during this campaign.”

Give me a break. It was removing Mormonism from its cult list that “politicized” the issue.

It’s one thing for the Grahams to endorse Romney as a candidate. After all, there aren’t many options. But it’s another thing entirely to change their doctrinal emphasis as a result of it.

This is disappointing.

Romney says that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. That is not good enough for some here.

There are charlatans of every stripe who see Godly congregations as gatherings of dupes. Remember the so-called Christian televangelists? Jim and Tammy?

God is the judge. When a man or woman is born into the religion of his/her parents - how do they keep the commandment to ‘honor thy father and thy mother’?

Living a Godly life is more important that the label we wear on our sleeve.

Atheists and agnostics are God’s children who were born to parents without beliefs. It behooves us to show them the Truth, through friendly persuasion.

Christians break the Ten Commandments - even when they know better.

The lds-org denies that Jesus is the Creator, that everything was created BY Him.

Pray they repent of their falsehoods and see the Truth.

The lds-org is a thief of the Name and the Truth of Jesus Christ.
