They shouldn’t have done that. This was an Evangelical website and fully entitled to make its judgments on other groups that are, essentially, after the same pool of people.
The website did not urge that Mormons be hunted down and killed, but simply advised that they do not have what could be referred to as a biblical faith, since essentially they do not believe in the Trinity and do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. I know a lot of Mormons would like to skip over that inconvenient fact and somehow be considered Evangelicals, but they’re not. If they want their “presiding bishop” to have a vision where he decides they are to accept the Trinitarian, biblical faith, that’s fine, and they can then be considered regular Christians. But until that time, they’re not.
I think it’s unfortunate that politics got into this. I’m not happy about voting for a Mormon, but I will do so because there’s really no alternative. Besides, we already have a non-Christian in the White House, and at least Romney doesn’t have any allegiance to a religion that is entirely foreign and hostile to Christian values. Mormonism has problems of its own that its members will have to deal with, but even if Romney gets elected, these problems are not going to affect the rest of us.
I can guarantee you that MORMONism has NOT tossed how how they feel about BAPTISTs!!!
