Americans have a clear choice between two presidential candidates with starkly different ideas for spurring the economy, providing for the health of our people, defending our interests abroad, educating our children and protecting our environment. We believe that President Barack Obamas progress on these issues merits him a second term in the White House.
Four years ago on this page, we endorsed Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona over Obama. We wrote that we were impressed with Obama, but McCain would bring the Iraq war to a successful conclusion, work to end American dependence on foreign oil, reduce America's output of climate-changing gases and begin the rebuilding of our economy.
The Democratic president has done all those things and more. He is calm under pressure and courageous in standing up for the rights of all Americans, including the poor, veterans, the elderly, women, gays and immigrants. In contrast, weve sometimes found it hard in the last few weeks to tell just what Obamas challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, really stands for.
Obama has a keen vision that he has worked hard to achieve, against considerable obstacles and often courageously. But the goal is in sight: An America respected worldwide as much for its prosperity as its defense of liberty and justice.
The Journal editorial board endorses Barack Obama for president.

they forget to say "and we learned our lesson". Unless they are completely filled with nincompoops they can't have done thins unless someone threatened to post pictures of them having sex with boys in the men's room.
That's what I heard, at least
Well, I did get this far...
“The Democratic president has done all those things and more.”
...before I had to check to see if it was Semi-News Satire or The Onion. Unfortunately it was neither.
“Winston-Salem Journal”
They will now be on my FU List for Nov 7! It’s a really long list!
You forgot the second part of the headline, “If the Alternative Is Didi Amin”.
Save paper. Less for commie rags and more for NC tobacco produced cigarettes. A pack of Winston or Salem brand please.
So....Winston Salem North Carolina must be predominantly black, huh?
12-15% of the population.
These people have lost their grip on reality.
Wow-—sounds like it was written by a ghost writer hack straight from the DNC. Anyone agreeing with that pibble of a fawning piece of debris endorsement is a literal moron on a string.
Obviously, there is a sizable flock of leftists who would do the world a favor by committing harakiri. Slowly.
Who wrote this op-ed, Sasha or Malia?
Seriously, it reads like a 4th or 5th grader that has just begun trying out a thesaurus.
What a bunch of mush-mouthed nothing blather.
Someone please tell me this will result in massive subscription cancellations and sponsors abandoning this rag.
Probably, but that aside, they must grow some killer weed there.
“So....Winston Salem North Carolina must be predominantly black, huh?”
Ya think?
Wow. What planet are these people from.
Best is used when comparing three or more people. These morons don’t know that the proper word is better.
Bump
ONLY A LIBERAL LEFT WING WHACKO WHO WORKS FOR A NORTH CAROLINA NEWSPAPER COULD WRITE THIS. NOT ONLY A NORTH CAROLINA WHACKO NEWSPAPER BUT MSM WHACKO’S HAVE THIS OPINION OF BOZO
