Conceding that he failed to deliver at last weeks debate, President Obama says he was just too polite and that voters should expect a little more activity next week in round two.
In a radio interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Obama compared the presidential race to a seven-game basketball series in which he was ahead two-nothing and lost one game to Mitt Romney at the debate.
You have a seven-game series, were up two zero and we lose one, he explained. You know, this is a long haul and I think that its very important for folks to make sure that they understand that as long as people stay focused, we will win this thing.
The good news is thats just the first one, the president said of last weeks debate. Governor Romney put forward a whole bunch of stuff that either involved him running away from positions that he had taken or doubling down on things like Medicare vouchers that are going to hurt him long-term.
Keep in mind, that the issues that are at stake for folks havent changed, he continued. Weve got millions of people whove got health care now because of our health care bill and they wont have it if Mitt Romney is elected president.

Hey Zero, keep reminding us of the debate with stupid daily excuses. It’s doing wonders for your poll numbers.
Maybe Rev Al will loan Obamugabe his bullhorn?
Surprised he hasn’t excreted how stressful anniversaries can be....
Is this part of his ego-centric personality? Why does he continue to yammer on about the debate, giving numerous excuses about his dismal performance? Every single pundit I’ve seen has said he and his team simply should have said something like, “it wasn’t my best night - but wait until the next debate!”
The weather, the altitude, the moderator, the ‘lies’ - whatever! Accept responsibility for a poor performance and move on!
How could I have forgotten that?
Oh, I hope he “unleashes” this time.
First, it was revealed how unintelligent he is.
Now, it’s time to reveal how petulant, mean, and angry he is.
Those big cheezy “illegal” grins were a dead giveaway it was NOT valium. Ganga maybe, but nothing perscribed.
Actually it is not about beating him in a debate, it is about letting him beat himself. The true bully will come out, just like when he invited Ryan to that conference at GW University, I believe it was, wherein he brow beat him from the podium wherein Ryan had no chance to respond. A bit earlier that week, at a private meeting at the white house, when on equal footing around a table, he kept his mouth shut because he was not in a superior position, like a bully with a crowd behind him. Don’t defer to him, challenge him and keep it up. He will blow, he has to especially if he sees he is going down. Remember, he is the affirmative action president, never made his bones. Like the Mafie Don’s son who steps in to take over the family, no real respect from the rest of the family.
Let them know he means business. That should close the deal for him.
It’s a four game series, Obama’s down 0-1, with crazy grampa debating the intellectual leader of the Congressional GOP tomorrow. Unless they replace Biden’s brain before the debate, there will be another week of explaining terrible debate performances.
LOL - you left out "Obama suffered a lack of oxygen to his brain, due to Denver's altitude"!
This “debate” is actually a town hall meeting. That means that O will be given specific lead in questions from the chosen. Whatever the question, say health care, he will begin by saying something false about Romney’s program and frankly may spend his entire time saying how bad Romney’s plans are. The best thing for Romney to do would be to take whatever the next question is, pivot, and say I will get to that in a second, look over at the turd and say, I would appreciate it if when you characterize my plan, you tell the truth about it and then go onto his answer.
Like a sports handicap?
I think Obama could be triggered to blow himself up, just like you said. But I wonder if Mr. Romney is willing to crank it up just one more notch over last week and try to do just that. I’m think Romney might be “too nice a guy” to try to do that on purpose.
It makes you wonder what we can expect for biden??
Tell that to the Supreme Court Justices, Sarah Palin, the Tea Party or anyone else who couldn’t confront him face to face. What a coward.
Pray for America
