The AARP, which put itself in the middle of the health care debate by endorsing ObamaCare, now is telling President Obama to keep the group out of his political talking points.
The nation's leading senior advocacy organization objected after the president during Wednesday's debate twice mentioned the AARP while defending his health care plan and attacking Mitt Romney's plans for Medicare...

AARP is a leftist, politically-active organization - I guess there are merely a few board members who are still worried about their fake veneer of being a neutral advocacy group for senior citizens being ruined among the larger public.
maybe ole AARP has received one too many cut up cards back in the mail. :)
I can’t see why Romney would turn down the chance to debate Clinton. It would be the greatest boon to any presidential candidate ever: an hour and a half of asking why Obama isn’t there.
WRONG!!!!!
The #2 mention was ‘ARP’
I recall chuckling about it at the time.
the AARP shouldn’t be supporting him if it is that embarrassing
Must be all our membership cancellation's had some effect.
Methinks that they are seeing their business model being damaged by the very real possibility of seeing their boy go down to defeat.
I agree with your assessment that AARP is an evil organization, but I urge you not to put all their mail into the shredder. Much of it contains a paid reply envelope. I always write them a note "How's ObamaCare working out for you" and stuff it in that envelope to send back to them. The post office can use the extra business. If you don't feel like writing them a note, just stuff their paid reply envelope with shreddings.
do they really think the cant is not out of the bag and no one knows AARP is in the Obama camp?
AARP is worried about AARP and their own tax status. If “progressive” groups are going to challenge churches for support of conservative issues, AARP doesn’t want to get caught up in the flow. They also don’t want to come up empty should Romney win and roll back Obamacare.
AARP SELLS their seal of approval.
with an Obama association the brand becomes toxic to products. This means when the general population sees aarp they do not buy.
AARP is not upset over the obama position, the AARP is objecting to the truth.
too busy with matters of state??
seriously??
He studiously AVOIDS meeting with foreign leaders while partying down with rappers and appearing on TV chat shows, but he’s too busy to debate??
It’s a debate about being the President, you’d think he would know more about that than Romney, wouldn’t you??
lolz
“I do my bit by mailing all their enrollment junk back to them in their postage paid envelop.”
Yay!
I do the same thing with offensive USPS spam.
“Too late AARP. We know whos side youre on.”
LOL The words that they wanted to be “on the down low” come to mind.
You want to keep their mailings coming WITH the paid reply envelopes. The post office needs the business!
1. It costs them money.
2. Your Shredder will last longer.
Heck, Obama practically did that last night. Did you notice how often he invoked Bill Clinton?
I thought that was rather amusing, since Clinton only adopted more sensible policies after he was forced to do so by the GOP legislative majority, which once had to go so far, under Newt Gingrich, as to refuse to accept Clinton’s duplicitous and dishonest budget negotiations, so that the government “was shut down” until Clinton came around.
Still, having Obama constantly invoking the supposed glory days of Bill Clinton, who left the presidency 12 years ago, was pretty pathetic.
AARP has been sleeping with the enemy for the past forty years and more. I wouldn’t touch them with a ten-foot pole.
