In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly today the President of the United States declared that the future does not belong to practicing Christians. Already, the media and the left are in full denial, probably based on their general lack of understanding of theology. This would have been a gaffe had Mitt Romney said it. But with Barack Obama, he’s just speaking bold truths. His bold truth declares that the future does not belong to practicing Christians.
Pay careful attention to what he says:
"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: “Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.” Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support."
Now, that’s the full paragraph so no one can claim I took him out of context.
But consider this.
It is an orthodox Christian belief that Mohammed is not a prophet. Actual Christians, as opposed to many of the supposed Christians put up by the mainstream media, believe that Christ is the only way to salvation. Believing that is slandering Mohammed. That’s just a fact. If you don’t believe me, you go into the MIddle East and proclaim Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and see what happens to your life.

IMO, he attempted to tie those acts together with a theme of intolerance rather than equating them with violence. Could I be wrong? Sure.
I didn’t suggest that Obama didn’t mean what he said. My point was that the article was intended to provoke an angry response. It did so.
If my first reaction to an article like this is extreme anger or shock, I try to recognize that my emotions are being intentionally manipulated. So I make a point to verify whether or not I have all of the relevant information. In this particular case, I did not.
Regarding Obama’s Christian pretense, I highly recommend that you read the excellent three-part series by Alexander LaBrecque at American Thinker titled “Obama’s Religious Ruse.” There can be no doubt after reading it that Obama does not know the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am at peace knowing that my Christian faith is going to be coming more and more under attack. Look for more attacks on Christians in this society in the future.

I read most of it, and while yes, that part is also offensive, it isn’t nearly as offensive as his attack on Christianity and his dismissal of the holocaust.
But for the part you cite: According to Obama, the future belongs to people who care so little about religion that they can’t distinguish between Christianity and Islam, two belief systems that are antithetical to one another. And it belongs only to women, and it has to be educated women.
I’ll assume he isn’t trying to claim that his daughters can’t live THEIR dreams, that he was speaking in some universal language of “tolerance of everybody that we like, and silencing of everybody we don’t like”.
Because in the end, he has declared intolerance to people who actually hold beliefs, people who think a particular world-view is important. Those of us who believe in absolutes are ridiculed by this president, in favor of those who don’t think there are any standards EXCEPT that we must accept whatever perversions they foist upon us or else we will be crushed.
Just great. And the Republicans have nominated a man who swears that there is no connection at all between Islam and jihadism.
I thought this would get me a fatwa. I’m disappointed.

A bomb went off outside the US embassy offices in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi Tuesday night, causing minor damage to its main gate.
A US embassy official in Tripoli told BBC that no one was injured in the attack, by unknown assailants.
The US official deplored the attack and asked the Libyan government to increase security around US facilities.
Libya has witnessed a spate of attacks on important local and foreign landmarks in the country this year.

General elections
The latest attack comes days before the first general elections in the country.
Libya is preparing for elections expected to take place on 19 June. Libyans will be voting for 200 members of an assembly that will form a panel to write a new constitution and form a new government.
It is still not clear who is behind these attacks, including the latest in Benghazi.

I had an eye-opening experience the other day. I was waiting in line in our little Walmart; this is a small farming community in central Virginia, and the store here is a small one, as Walmarts go. I looked around me, and I counted four--FOUR---Muslim women. Again, in a tiny rural village in VA.
It was shocking and disturbing.
